should be an interesting lineup
with murphy out long term, surely boggs doesnt need to be ahead of davis in the lineup v righties on a daily basis.
and hopefully bradley can finally step up now that the lineup is (and yes, murphy to boggs is a significant downgrade v righties imo) hurt a bit more.
the preceding post is not nearly as negative or insulting as you think it is
Lineup
2B Ian Kinsler
DH Frank Catalanotto
SS Michael Young
CF Josh Hamilton
RF Marlon Byrd
LF Brandon Boggs
C Gerald Laird
1B Chris Davis
3B Ramon Vazquez
Per DMN.
booo.
come on, what logic is there behind boggs above davis in a semi-permanent lineup spot.
davis has hit righties better. hes hit lefties better. he hit in better lineup spots in the minors. he only has a few less at bats.
id rather have davis face some lefty the other team brings in then boggs facing a setup/closing calibur righty late in the game.

Just now recovering
From getting hammered in the bleacher seats at last nights game. DAMN Yankees fans everywhere, you have to bring your A game to the ballpark.
I was all up in Mariano’s grill while he was warming up, but I guess I was not as effective as I thought…
Tonight though, be afraid.
Sigh... yea, I had been picking the Yankees as a reverse jinx
but it didn’t work last night. What the hell… Rangers 8-5.
Aikman and Bradshaw?
Please. They are in the same league as Trent Dilfer and Jim McMahon as QBs who were taken to the SB by great Defenses and great Running Games.

HEY with Boston not playing that means we can get to 5.5 which sounds way better than 6

let see....
My predictions so far-
Tues- was complete opposite of what I said.
Wed- I was dead on.(even though I was hoping I would jinx the Yankees)
tonight-
I see usual Mussina only giving up 3 runs through 6 2/3….and the yankees bullpen maybe giving us 1 run.
I see feldman pitching well most of the night, but he will have that 1 inning in which he gets torched for 4 runs.
Rangers lose 6-4. Rivera gets another save. I wish his freakin arm would fall off.
I have a feeling
we’re gonna see Wash get tossed after Mussina’s knucklecurve repeatedly gets called for a strike a foot high and a foot outside the zone.

"Dying ain't hard. It's living that's hard."
She was screaming
at ARod and then rung him up when he struck out so she must be a Rangers fan.
"Dying ain't hard. It's living that's hard."
TAG: "When you watch this guy play, you don't look at him and think that's a guy who has those numbers."
That was TAG on Brandon Boggs. His argument for how Boggs has been “better than his numbers.”
To me, that’s an argument for why you don’t get that much just from watching and TAG was doing his best Tim McCarver impression.
Not that I don’t like Boggs. He also sneezed at his 5 assists, but that’s actually pretty good.
the problem with his average
is that he doesn’t play everyday, so they could argue that .244 might not be that bad, especially for a fourth outfielder
I wouldn't even bother looking at batting average.
Frankly, I wouldn’t bother looking much at any of the stats they listed, it was the idea of the statement.
Look at the knuckle-dragging neanderthal that caught the ball
typical Yankee fan.

Byrd has been VERY hot lately.
If we don’t score here I’m gonna be pissed.
He shoulda gone to 3rd anyway.

Both of them were
stupid moves but Byrd’s baserunning trumps Boggs.

No way dude. I’m not excusing Byrd’s F-up, but Boggs made the dumb-ass move to go to 2nd.
"Either we need to re-calibrate our rectangle, or Alfonzo Marquez is not having a good night." - Josh Lewin
You are always supposed to go to 2nd in that situation
Really, it was a very heads-up play and a good tag that got him.
I’m sure Pettis sent him.

No it was a stupid move there.
If Byrd is stuck between 3rd and HP, then maybe. But that was a stupid move. I don’t care if it was Pettis that sent him or not. Stupid play.
"Either we need to re-calibrate our rectangle, or Alfonzo Marquez is not having a good night." - Josh Lewin
Boggs running to second when the pickle had ben run in to the viscinity of the base is off the hook?
Boggs should not have tried
to go to second unless he absolutely knew he could make it.
It was a wild ass gamble.
"Dying ain't hard. It's living that's hard."
That terrible manager Wash
should’ve reminded him to not run to 2nd in a pickle, right?
Or maybe that terrible GM should’ve known to get a better OF in to replace Murphy?
