should be an interesting lineup

with murphy out long term, surely boggs doesnt need to be ahead of davis in the lineup v righties on a daily basis.

and hopefully bradley can finally step up now that the lineup is (and yes, murphy to boggs is a significant downgrade v righties imo) hurt a bit more.

Lineup

2B Ian Kinsler
DH Frank Catalanotto
SS Michael Young
CF Josh Hamilton
RF Marlon Byrd
LF Brandon Boggs
C Gerald Laird
1B Chris Davis
3B Ramon Vazquez

Per DMN.

by Kinslerhomer on Aug 7, 2008 6:09 PM CDT   0 recs

booo.

come on, what logic is there behind boggs above davis in a semi-permanent lineup spot.

davis has hit righties better. hes hit lefties better. he hit in better lineup spots in the minors. he only has a few less at bats.

id rather have davis face some lefty the other team brings in then boggs facing a setup/closing calibur righty late in the game.

I guess

Boggs can handle the pressure of batting 6th better than Davis.

Just now recovering

From getting hammered in the bleacher seats at last nights game. DAMN Yankees fans everywhere, you have to bring your A game to the ballpark.

I was all up in Mariano’s grill while he was warming up, but I guess I was not as effective as I thought…

Tonight though, be afraid.

by SaltyGoesYard on Aug 7, 2008 6:11 PM CDT   0 recs

Sigh... yea, I had been picking the Yankees as a reverse jinx

but it didn’t work last night. What the hell… Rangers 8-5.

Aikman and Bradshaw?

Please. They are in the same league as Trent Dilfer and Jim McMahon as QBs who were taken to the SB by great Defenses and great Running Games.

It actually does....

let see....

My predictions so far-
Tues- was complete opposite of what I said.
Wed- I was dead on.(even though I was hoping I would jinx the Yankees)

tonight-

I see usual Mussina only giving up 3 runs through 6 2/3….and the yankees bullpen maybe giving us 1 run.

I see feldman pitching well most of the night, but he will have that 1 inning in which he gets torched for 4 runs.

Rangers lose 6-4. Rivera gets another save. I wish his freakin arm would fall off.

by clinton33 on Aug 7, 2008 6:17 PM CDT   0 recs

I have a feeling

we’re gonna see Wash get tossed after Mussina’s knucklecurve repeatedly gets called for a strike a foot high and a foot outside the zone.

Aikman and Bradshaw?

Please. They are in the same league as Trent Dilfer and Jim McMahon as QBs who were taken to the SB by great Defenses and great Running Games.

they almost never wear the standard white anymore

by kevinkinsler on Aug 7, 2008 7:10 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

on the radio pregame a while ago

it was explained that the standard white uni’s are double knit or something, and hard to wear in the heat over the sleeveless or the “cool breeze” or whatever fabric the blue ones are.

TAG: "When you watch this guy play, you don't look at him and think that's a guy who has those numbers."

That was TAG on Brandon Boggs. His argument for how Boggs has been “better than his numbers.”

To me, that’s an argument for why you don’t get that much just from watching and TAG was doing his best Tim McCarver impression.

Not that I don’t like Boggs. He also sneezed at his 5 assists, but that’s actually pretty good.

by philkid3 on Aug 7, 2008 7:11 PM CDT   0 recs

the problem with his average

is that he doesn’t play everyday, so they could argue that .244 might not be that bad, especially for a fourth outfielder

by kevinkinsler on Aug 7, 2008 7:13 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

I wouldn't even bother looking at batting average.

Frankly, I wouldn’t bother looking much at any of the stats they listed, it was the idea of the statement.
