Fatboy Slim Friday

Fatboy Slim - Rockafella Skank (FIFA 99 Soundtrack) (via Enisarkis)

I don't know who the guys in the video are, but this amused me:

It's not nearly as awesome as

this, but, yah, I liked that song back in the day.

Although there are two non-whities in the video. That’s disconcerting for someone who, as you so elegantly noted, apparently bases his musical preferences solely on his own whiteness ;)

that lame "Other" box...

...if they had “wop”, “guinea” or “mook”... i’d check those.

by oc on Aug 8, 2008 2:47 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

hah

I always check other and write-in “White Dude”.

Caucasian always sounds so pompous, like maybe I should be wearing a monocle or something.

You know

you’re entitled to your taste, but those that disagree with it are not stupid. As a musician I can be as guilty as anyone of musical snobbism, but you’re setting the pace today.

Time you enjoy wasting was not wasted.

I'd say

if your hopes for a good day hinged on McDonald’s, you were doomed from the start.

this video will jinx us tonight...

...it will be Cy Guthrie out there.

Whoa

you have ESP.

I was in Thailand 6 or 7 years ago

Daft Punk was a fucking Elvis, The Beatles, and Sinatra trifecta to the locals. They were techo freaks in general, but Daft Punk was their ne plus ultra. It was funny.

I gave our cab driver/chauffeur for the week a Daft Punk CD and he bowed and then hugged me.

Last week I took a pleasure trip. I drove my wife to the airport.

Daft Punk

there are definitely worse groups for the international crowd to glom onto.

If you like Daft Punk, you’d probably like Justice. Listening to them right now as a matter of fact…

What's the rumpus?

I'm not actually much of a daft punk fan

but, yah, they’re huge overseas. Apparently they’re awesome live, but who knows.

Someone just sent me that video and I thought it was cool.

I’m more of a totally cliche indie-rocker myself.

I dunno about that

But another curious thing I saw on a naval deployment:

An all-teenage, Fillipino, Zeppelin cover band in Dubai, U.A.E. I defy anyone else here at LSB to identify that in their list of experiences. I pompously scoff at your 1st world, 2nd rate “experiences.”

Stairway to Heaven with a couple of steps missing (ba dum dum dum… rim shot)...

Boy did I ****ing love that song.

If there was a soundtrack for my high school years, this would be on it.

The original video was great, too.

Word

Could that be the third Morris brother? The one we never hear about?

I’m comfortable saying that it probably is.

Yeah, nothing will wake you up on a Friday afternoon ...

like a guy in a wife beater flapping his man boobs at your computer screen.

I may be scarred for life.

Yeah

I played the hell out of FIFA ‘99 and I got a huge kick that Fatboy (who I was really into at the time) was on the soundtrack. There were a few other good tracks on that soundtrack too…Lionrock had a song which was greatness.

Fatboy in concert, though, is dry as a piece of melba toast…Thank god for studio albums

FIFA 99

I had a copy, and played it a bunch as well. My two friends that I used to play against still call it “The Funk Soul Brother” game any time it comes up in conversation. Oddly enough, they liked to play the game, but aren’t at all into following soccer now.

My Fiorentina team on the game kicked all kinds of ass. Gabriel Batistuta and Rui Costa were the shiznit.

AJM

I get the feeling this is something you would have attempted to create in college with two of your sabermetric friends :)

Those three guys

One is dishing out pizza on the lower East Side. Another is working as a homeless advocate in the five boroughs welfare office. The third quit his job as a pier watchman for the NYNJ Port Terminal authority and is running for Congress. They are all deeply ashamed that this video got on the internet.

But… Adam this was not what I think is good for our famous Friday afternoon video
