Chad Tracy, Craig Gentry promoted
to AA and AAA respectively. Hopefully, Gentry stays once Ellison is dfa'd.

nice to see
I’ve always liked Gentry as a potential 4th/5th outfielder. He has good defense, seems like a good baserunner. When he was drafted I grouped him with Grant Gerrard in my mind, their both being college OFs and all, but Gentry has really left Gerrard, who has been solid but not particularly great, in his dust.
Perhaps Tracy will benefit from the jump to AA in the midst of a hot streak. In a system not particularly heavy in corner OF prospects, it’s good to see his bat move one step closer to Arlington (or to decent trade chip-dom).

Gerrard
He’s been injury prone it appears, missing most of last yr and was hurt again this year as well. Not sure what the injury/ies were but I thought he shouldve been promoted to frisco before he got hurt. It seems however he has missed the boat on developing his power. Does anyone have more info on his injury history?
I haven’t seen gentry play, but he seems to have a cannon arm; every few games he is throwing someone out on the bases. As for tracy, I was a bit worried about him as he had a below average yr in A ball last year and had a horrendous start this year, but he has come around. I hope he keeps knocking the cover off of the ball in AA. He palyed a few games at 1st base before his promotion; I wonder if Restko will take a seat now?

Chad Tracy...
Along with a few others (Manuel Pina, Jonathan Greene, and J.B. Diaz come to mind), Chad Tracy (the Rangers’ one) is definitely a player I think is worth following because he has a chance to emerge as a legitimate prospect. After sub-par months in April and May for Bakersfield, he hit .326/.398/.528 in June and .292/.368/.542 in July (He was also hitting .417/.440/.875 with 3 HR’s in the first 6 games of August).
While Tracy has been used primarily as a left fielder and designated hitter, he was originally drafted as a catcher and has played there seven times this season.
Watching a player hit into a double play. A fan's delight. It's the only time in professional sports where you can sit on your couch, out of shape and drinking, and say, "Yes, I could have done better."

Greene
He seems to be one of the organizations best power hitters but he doesnt appear able to hit for average even in the low minors which doesnt bode well. If he can be prospect as a catcher, maybe he has a better chance of sticking than as a below ave third baseman.

That Average...
Greene’s average is definitely on the low side, but his overall line of .247/.357/.462 isn’t all that bad. And that’s including April, when he hit .214/.309/.329. Hopefully that first month isn’t representative of where he is now.
I’d also keep my eye on the development of Steven Murphy, who was John Mayberry Jr.’s teammate at Rockhurst High School in Kansas City. Murphy, who’s repeating a year at Frisco, has a .276/.328/.513 line in his second year in the Texas League.

2 years...
I was thinking about last year as well. That makes 2 years that he hasn’t 250 in SS and A level as a college guy. We’ll give him 20 pts for the park factor… As for murphy, I don’t get what the rangers are thinking with their outfielders this year. I think harrison murphy gentry gerrard smith and moreland all deserved to be promoted mid-season; none of them are getting any younger.

couple of others I am glad to see
come around this year: Dominguez, Paisano, and Pina. The knock was that they might never hit so if they can at least hit for ave with their plus tools, well, that will be fun to see, and Paisano is hitting with a little pop as well.

Paisano
If he ever turned into something, that would take a little sting out of that trade… very little though.
I'm sorry my parents never had me sarcamsized.
