The time has come to cast your ballot for July's Rookie of the Month. Our favorite first baseman (or at least mine) is up for election, and deservedly so. In July, he batted .303 with eight doubles, eight home runs and 16 RBI. He also played some pretty decent defense at the corner.

I'm not sure I really need to sell you on this anymore, I'm just trying to fill the word quota. I actually may still fall short. Anyhow...what are you waiting for? Vote here

i’d wait until he plays a complete season before talking about it.

i’d hesitate giving hammy a long term deal right now… how old will he be when he’s not under team control anymore?

He’ll be 27 if he hits free agency without spending any more time in the minors. The only other player that got an extension so quickly that I know of is Evan Longoria this year after 1 game.
