New MLB.com/Newberg Report column

Just a heads-up -- I'm going to wrap up "In their Footsteps" this week and then launch a new weekly column for the Rangers MLB.com site that ranks the Top 20 prospects in the system and adjusts the list weekly, as appropriate, with bullet point notes on each player.

im looking forward to getting to see these rankings. seems like that will be a lot of work to have to update those rankings weekly, though.

First installment...

...will be in a week and a half, and I think you’ll be surprised at one slot in particular,

Nellie Cruz?

That Neffy guy is way overrated.

I'm sorry my parents never had me sarcamsized.

Holland

up there, or maybe he has someone like Boscan or Perez really high.

Time you enjoy wasting was not wasted.

Holland wouldn't be that surprising.

You could make a decent argument for him being in the top 5.

Hmmm...

Guesses:

Chad Tracy
Manuel Pina
Eric Fry
Matt West

Any one of them in the top 20 would come as some suprise.

Watching a player hit into a double play. A fan's delight. It's the only time in professional sports where you can sit on your couch, out of shape and drinking, and say, "Yes, I could have done better."

Cool

im mostly interested

in guys who have the same name as established, much more talented major leaguers (i.e. chad tracy, derek lee, etc.)

excellent

sounds like a great way for fans who might not already subscribe to the newsletter to keep tabs on the top minor league prospects .

and an easy way for those of us to do subscribe to quickly checkup on the top 20
