Good day to you all.

 

Well, the Hurricane was not as bad as expected (Thank God) and Crude Oil Prices fell about $4 today so that is deff. good news.  At the Mosque I attend they are planning on opening it up for Refugee's and have already spoken to the Police Department and agreed to everything.  If you have any info about Refugee places anywhere in the area post them on here and spread the word in case anyone knows anyone that needs a place to stay.  Thanks!

 

Second thing...Today marks the start of the blessed Month of Ramadan for myself and Billions of Muslims worldwide.  We refrain from all food, drink, sex, and smoke (if you smoke that is) from sunrise to sunset.  Also during this blessed month we have special Night Prayers at the Mosque and also if you would like you can get up and pray for half the night. 

So if anyone of you would like to see how it feels you can fast for a day.  This program is currently done at TCU by the Muslims Student Association where non-Muslims fast along with the Muslims for a day or several days and share our breaking of the fast meal when the sunsets.  It has been a great success thus far.

If I lived in the DFW area I would be interested in that thing TCU is doing. But instead perhaps tomorrow I will fast. At the very least it will put off my having to go to the grocery store.

How difficult is it

really to go without nooky, food, drink or smoking for 10-12 hours on a day when you don’t have to go to work because it’s a holiday? Just take a long nap so you’re not conscious of how horny or hungry you are for most of that 10-12 hours of deprivation.

The two older women were an aunt of Fauzia and the other, the mother of one minor. When they protested and tried to stop the burial of the minors that were plainly alive, the attackers were so angry that they also pushed them into the ditch and buried all alive. After completing the burial, they fired several shots into to the air so that no one would come close.

The minors were educated and were studying in classes from 10 to 12. They were punished for trying to decide about their marriages.

Religion should not be talked about on a baseball blog… But I find it really ignorant to bring up articles about instances relating to the subject of beating wives and act like the whole religion abides by that. It’s no different than me bringing up an article about a priest molesting a child and saying all priests do that.

this happens a lot in THIS country too.. the “honor killings”. I saw a special on it recently where the father kills their daughters for dating American men or something really effed up like that and then they flee like the time it happened in Dallas not too long ago.

Ahmad I have nothing against Muslims but this is SOOOO effed up and it happens a lot more than we’ll ever know. If it’s happening here it’s sure as hell happening in places where it’s condoned.

Muslims and Islam do not condone “honor killings” there is nothing honorable about them and they are against Islam and it’s teaching. It happens (not as often as it appears) but keep in mind it happens among both Christians and Muslims and even Jews in the Middle East and Africa and parts of South East Asia. My father lived next door to a Christian family in Jordan who killed their daughter because she ran off man against her families wishes. Point being it is not part of Islam but part of some people’s messed up mind and it is evil and we as Muslims are 100% against it.
