Seriously

Why in the hell do you yank Loe after 3 pitches?

by Longhorn on Sep 1, 2008 9:13 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

Not really

I didn’t think there was a chance that he wouldn’t be out there.

by Chris Hanes on Sep 1, 2008 9:14 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

out there..

to start the next inning.

by Chris Hanes on Sep 1, 2008 9:14 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

Really?

I said that when the inning started.

Why do you pull Loe after 3 pitches?

It doesn’t make sense.

by Adam J. Morris on Sep 1, 2008 9:14 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

well, you're saving yourself there

it could have went either way when he came back into the game….there’s been several instances where it went one way or the other. Luis should have been able to get these guys out…he hasn’t

"Popularity is fleeting. Principles are forever."

by Longhorn on Sep 1, 2008 9:17 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

that's BS

Wash pulled Loe for Mendoza after only 3 pitches. They are both groundball pitchers who are right handed. Loe has been dominant in relief and was absolutely beasty in that last AB. There is absolutely no reason to pull him for anyone.

By 2028, Mark Teixeira will be in the HOF.

by Gdawg1 on Sep 1, 2008 9:19 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

so?

because of a few ABs we disregard everything else he’s done. Nice.

Everything else Luis has done?

He hasn’t exactly sparkled this season.

exactly

There is just no point to use Loe for only 3 pitches when you aren’t even trying any L/L/ or R/R match-up there.

By 2028, Mark Teixeira will be in the HOF.
-The Outlaw

by Gdawg1 on Sep 1, 2008 9:24 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

If you wanted Mendoza in the game...

…put him in in the 7th.

I have a problem pulling someone who has been effective after 3 pitches. If you didn’t trust him to pitch the 7th, you shouldn’t have put him in with 2 outs in the 6th.

by Adam J. Morris on Sep 1, 2008 9:23 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

should be fired! Right?

so

what has luis done after 3 pitches?

why?

"Popularity is fleeting. Principles are forever."

by Longhorn on Sep 1, 2008 9:17 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

Because Luis got to throw more than three pitches

In fact, he had a chance to get three outs. Loe didn’t get the same chance so the comparison doesn’t make sense.

Now...

…you are just arguing for the sake of arguing.

I’ve defended Wash’s use of the bullpen some in the past, but this doesn’t make sense, and his bullpen management is a weakness.

Really, his in-game management as a whole is a weakness.

by Adam J. Morris on Sep 1, 2008 9:24 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

Because your name is Ron Washington

And you are slightly retarded when it comes to bullpen management.

I don't know

what Wash is thinking. Seriously, he must have some plan in mind for using pitchers but damn if I can figure out what it is. It’s like he has made his mind up for each remaining inning and refuses to consider how any specific pitcher is doing on a given night.

And on that note, I’m out. Gonna take some boxes and some TP over to the new digs.

And unrequited feelings are what prompted me to pick up this series in the first place.

I just like reading the books more when Edward is in them.

Reading the stuff with Jacob probably hits a little close to home for me. sigh

Are you ladies ...

… talking about the ‘Twilight" series? I have thought about getting them, are they any good? I have some amazon gift cards burning a hole in my account and thought of getting the first two books. it’s either that or a very cute new purse that is on sale. Decisions, decisions.

by Melmart1 on Sep 1, 2008 9:20 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

Yes we are

I read the first one not expecting to like it so much. But my best friend was enamoured, so I decided to give it a chance. I finished the first book in five hours. And have breezed through the second and third book too. I love it.

Well ...

.. I had a friend in love with the Harry Potter books so I tried reading the first one and I hated it. Haven’t seen any of the movies, either. So recommendations rarely work out for me. Of course, you have never recommended anything to me, so maybe I should trust you. Hmmm…

by Melmart1 on Sep 1, 2008 9:25 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

True...recommendations are tough.

I say check out the first one at a library or buy it cheap. Then if you hate it, you aren’t committed to the whole series. I don’t usually get into the whole fantasy thing. At all. But this series has enough realism and romance tied in that I love it. Although I don’t know why I keep reading romance…I guess I like believing it exists. Ha ha.

umm, okay what?

This LaRussa-ian habit of using relievers for only a batter or two at a time, I have a problem with. If you have an effective pitcher out there, don’t pull him after a batter or two. Every time you go to the pen, you increase the odds of bringing someone into the game who doesn’t have it that night.
