just looked at the poll on the team site about which minor leaguer intrigues fans the most.
No shock that Neftali is at the top or even that Andrus is 2nd. Howeber JMJ 3rd at 15% slightly ahead of Dutch at 14% made me chuckle.

Should just be high wind and a lot of rain tonight, but nothing that, where I live, should be that dangerous. Probably lose power for a while, and there’s a chance of some windows breaking because of wind blowing debris, but there shouldn’t be anything worse than that.

Lineup is virtually the same as last night
Arias 2B
Young SS
Hamilton CF
Byrd LF
Cruz RF
Blalock 1B
Laird C
Davis 3B
Tea DH
One of the things that’s been bugging me though, is why not use the DH spot to get Hamilton off the field for a game or two and get Boggs some playing time while Bradley is out? Laird has started the last three games in a row now.

That was a case of the Astro’s jumping in the front of the line for his services. They charged hard for Wolf last winter and didn’t get him. So they trade for him this year so they can be the first to negotiate a deal. The only way we'll be able to trade for a top-of-the-rotation starter is by giving up a young Major League ready pitcher.

bring a top of the rotation pitcher?

Yes.
Despite his injuries, he pitched fairly well this year. He’s controllable and likely to fit immediately into a rotation. Solid off-spead stuff.

and you think its actually above a 50% chance that that will take place?
and that it will almost certainly be hurley?
i think they would ask for feliz as the base of a deal for an ace, not hurley. which is why i dont think it would happen.
more likely something uses Davis as the base for an offensively starved team, but i wouldnt hold my breath on any such deal.

I'd rather have Nolasco than Greinke
Greinke doesn’t have enough service time to give up a big package for IMO.

Only way he gets dealt is if he's part of a package
For someone like Ricky Nolasco. Even then, I bet the Rangers would rather give up Matt Harrison in that deal than Hurley.

i really think they need to see what hurleys got, he didnt get enough starts in the bigs due to injures.
only concern i might have with him is the hr rate

Given Hicks’ comment I really don’t see the Rangers signing a free-agent arm… which is why I think a trade is more likely… and thus… someone will get squeezed.

i said a top-of-the-rotation starter.
Greinke really isn’t an ace. Nolasco isn’t really an ace.
But, they’re both more established pitchers with better stuff.

the main reason millwood SHOULD be useful
is because we legitimately need someone to eat innings and save the bullpen, great or not.
but its obviously millwood isnt that guy anymore.

earlier it started washing over the road, so i figured it would get pretty nasty once the thing actually hit.
i really dont expect much from a 100+ yr old seawall against a strong hurricane
