Saturday stuff
Good stuff from Matt Harrison last night.
The rotation is shifting around to accomodate Vicente Padilla and his unpredictable health. As usual, Scott Feldman will have his plans altered to cover.
And Evan Grant talks about Michael Young's impending hand surgeries, as well as Joaquin Benoit's shoulder.

I know it is a small sample size
But with the way TT is playing it looks as if he could become the opening day starter next year. We all assume that JD will trade Laird but it looks like Salty might be the other odd man out now. Personaly I would like to keep Salty and send him to AAA a next year and let it play out but what do you do with Max Ram? Is there any chance the Red Sox would be interested in Salty and if they are what would they be willing to part with? I think Laird and the Reds are a nice fit this offseason.

I don't know
about thinking Teagarden is ready to be your starter. He has 29 major league at bats. In 254 minor league at bats this season his line was .211/.319/.374. That’s just terrible.
Offense doesn't doubt me, but my first and primemost thing is defense and punt return and kickoff return

I wasn't looking at his offinsive numbers
I just like the way he has worked with the pitchers when he is catching. They seem to be comfortable withhim behind the dish. If he hits it is a plus.

Okay
I just don’t think that you can really use his fast start as evidence, given what he did in the minors.

I agree
But so far from what I have seen he is the best out of the 4 behind the plate.

Ok, but
any of them could look great for 29 at bats.

If you read my posts
I’m not talking about his offense only his work behind the plate.

Oh yeah
I glossed right over the word “behind”. That’s my reason for wanting him in Arlington next year. I’m even willing to stick with him if he only hits .240.

padilla's health
washington’s comments made it clear that mental health was the concern, not so much padilla’s physical health.
Michael Youngs Injury's i think have
been the big reason for his lack of hits in general and extra base hits in particular, all of the people who have been on Young’s case should take the 2 hand injuries into consideration before passing judgment on his play. let’s see how he does next year (if injury free) the guy has given the rangers and fans his all over the last several years, how about we give him his due.
His injury
has nothing to do with his lack of any power whatsover and his complete lack of range on defense.
Have you tried to run with an injured knuckle?
It’s hard! :)

young
what did TAG say last night about Michael Young? Wasn’t it that he was ahead of nearly every other SS in the major leagues defensively? How credible is Tom?

it alll depends on which stats you choose to value. Fielding percentage, total chances, and total chances per game put him near the top. Other stats give varying results. I think this is a case where observation yields the best conclusion but that drives the stat folks nuts.

thanks for the explanation. I tend to be an observation type guy.
