… these girls on the internet and calls them. I know one lives in Pampa, wherever the hell that is. Some have come to visit but nothing much ever comes out of it. Probably because of the singing. It is GAWD awful, my mom was here earlier and she could hear it in the living room, she thought an animal was dying.
Yeah, I wanted to like the movie more
But Pierce Brosnan didn’t help it.
I like musicals, but I couldn’t get behind this one. Maybe the broadway show is different.

but this thread, with all the recs and mamma mia talk, is a little gay. nothing wrong with that, just unexpected on a sports forum.
and someone please explain to me why a Rangers fan cannot complain about the Danks/McCarthy trade still? Has JD done anything to redeem himself yet? Have the Rangers fielded a winning team yet? Let me know when one of those things happens, and I will stop sighing when i read Danks’ boxscores. Until then, I think a Rangers fan has every right to accuse JD and the entire org of epic failure in that regard.
So if Danks pitches for another 10 years

I just think it's a little repetitive and exhausting
I liked Danks and I was as floored by the trade as anyone. And I don’t think there’s a single fan who’s not waiting to see if we ever reap a true return from it. I just think the whining is a waste of time. It won’t change things.

there’s a whole other group of forum nazis that say you can’t judge a trade until years later. it’s a talking sport. get used to it.
umm, yeah
especially if this team continues to fail to develop solid major league pitching. of course, by then JD would be gone, so the point would be moot. you can’t draft a good young LHP from Texas, hype him up, deal him just as he was set to emerge for an overhyped pitcher (and unlucky, I admit) and expect to get a free pass on it.

.. is giving him a free pass? He has been criticized over and over and over for this. It gets to sound like a broken record. It’s been two years. Move on.

based on time alone. he has to show some competency at his job, as well. a big step forward would be fielding a rotation with just one pitcher as good as the one he already dealt away.

i actually am pro-JD
and i agree that he has improved his general manager skills greatly over the last year and a half. i have not started a single thread on this forum complaining about the Danks deal. I certainly don’t think i fixate. but i do think Rangers fans have the right to complain. Especially while watching a losing team for so many seasons in a row.
So ...
.. the drafting of great prospects since then, the shrewd signing of castoffs like Lofton and Gagne, then the subsequent flipping for good young prospects since then isn’t a sign of competency?

JD seems like someone who is very critical of his own performance. I’m sure that’ll come back as the trade that haunts him for the rest of his life, but he can’t change it now. It’s done. He just has to make the best of it, and to JD’s credit, I think he’s done more good than bad to this system. All these players we love watching right now — Feliz, Harrison, Davis, Holland, Beavan, Kiker, Ramirez, etc. JD brought them to Texas.

for the sake of bitching, but a fan of a pro sports team has the right to complain when the person in charge of player acquisition has shown an severe inability to evaluate major league pitching potential.
