At the game I attended on Monday...

…I ended up with a baseball…

Chris Davis caught a foul pop fly right in front of me (I was sitting on the 2nd row, and no one was in the row in front of me), and flipped it up in the stands before trotting back to the dugout.

Let me tell you a story...

Adam and I went to a game at the Juice Box a number of years ago, and Kevin Mench hit a foul ball into the section right next to us. Everybody stood up but me, and the ball bounced off somebody’s head and rolled right to me.

Adam looked at me, and said, “Can I have that ball?”

I told him, “No, dude, I’ve never caught a foul ball before.”

He said: “I haven’t either. Besides, they were my tickets.”

I've never gotten a baseball at a major league game

I’ve gotten two at AAA games — from Laynce Nix and Nelson Cruz.

The only one I got a major league game was a ball used during bullpen warmups.

At spring training, I got one from major league batting practice courtesy of Matt Walbeck, and one from minor league batting practice courtesy of – I don’t know – it was hit out of the park and landed right by my car as I walked up to it!

I so want to go to spring training some year

Flights down there aren’t bad, but I can’t afford to do hotel and car rental solo. A friend of mine was gonna go last year and then backed out on me in January. Boo.

I actually drove over. Being 21, it would be ridiculously expensive to rent a car for the week.

I haven’t decided yet whether I’m going next year. I was leaning away from it, but I think with the season coming to an end, I’m beginning to change my mind.

With gas prices, it'd be ridiculously expensive to drive there

I’m old enough to rent a car at a decent price. But so few places take debit cards. They need credit cards. I don’t do those. Stupid.

If I’m still at my current job (and I hope I’m not by then), I can only do a long weekend…like Thursday to Monday.

That's what I did.

Friday through Tuesday.

And yeah, I had determined that if I go again, I’m not driving – at least for sure not alone. 15 hours to get to Tucson, where I stayed the night, was torturous.

Juan Polanco...

I was just curious if anyone has heard of outfielder Juan Polanco before? Rangers’ Dominican Summer League Manager Jayce Tingler said earlier this year that Polanco’s a five-tool guy and that he’d never seen a 17-year-old with tools like Polanco (Polanco has since turned 18). According to milb.com, he’s listed as a 5’11, 175 lb. rightfielder (bats and throws righthanded) who hit .277/.395/.455 this year for the DSL Rangers1.

I didn’t know if this was an appropriate thread to ask, but I didn’t feel it warranted a Fanpost or Fanshot, and I figured there’s a lot of traffic in these game day threads.

I'm tired of the suspense. Why won't they just tell us what they mean by "male enhancement?"

I have a 55 gallon...

and it’s approximately 4 feet from end to end. They’re generally fairly heavy and unwieldy. As for marine tanks, they’re a big pain in the ass.

Nice tank

I used to be in that hobby until I realized I wasn’t committed enough to my aquarium to make it work.

Probably didn’t help that I only had a 10-gallon tank and just a few small neon tetras.

There's something oddly fascinating about...

having fish that I caught a few hundred yards from my house. Even though it’s 5 minnows and 5 sunfish, they’re kind of fascinating… and I’ve put a lot more effort into getting it “right” this time around (getting the nitrifying bacteria cycled, etc.).
