At the game I attended on Monday...
…I ended up with a baseball…
Chris Davis caught a foul pop fly right in front of me (I was sitting on the 2nd row, and no one was in the row in front of me), and flipped it up in the stands before trotting back to the dugout.

Or balls in general like the one CD flipped to you…..how many have you gotten before?
I’ve never gotten one.
Let me tell you a story...
Adam and I went to a game at the Juice Box a number of years ago, and Kevin Mench hit a foul ball into the section right next to us. Everybody stood up but me, and the ball bounced off somebody’s head and rolled right to me.
Adam looked at me, and said, “Can I have that ball?”
I told him, “No, dude, I’ve never caught a foul ball before.”
He said: “I haven’t either. Besides, they were my tickets.”

I've never gotten a baseball at a major league game
I’ve gotten two at AAA games — from Laynce Nix and Nelson Cruz.

The only one I got a major league game was a ball used during bullpen warmups.
At spring training, I got one from major league batting practice courtesy of Matt Walbeck, and one from minor league batting practice courtesy of – I don’t know – it was hit out of the park and landed right by my car as I walked up to it!
I so want to go to spring training some year
Flights down there aren’t bad, but I can’t afford to do hotel and car rental solo. A friend of mine was gonna go last year and then backed out on me in January. Boo.

I actually drove over. Being 21, it would be ridiculously expensive to rent a car for the week.
I haven’t decided yet whether I’m going next year. I was leaning away from it, but I think with the season coming to an end, I’m beginning to change my mind.
With gas prices, it'd be ridiculously expensive to drive there
I’m old enough to rent a car at a decent price. But so few places take debit cards. They need credit cards. I don’t do those. Stupid.
If I’m still at my current job (and I hope I’m not by then), I can only do a long weekend…like Thursday to Monday.

That's what I did.
Friday through Tuesday.
And yeah, I had determined that if I go again, I’m not driving – at least for sure not alone. 15 hours to get to Tucson, where I stayed the night, was torturous.
I'd definitely be up for thinking about this...

Like I said, definitely not for sure yet. After this move, I still need some time to figure out how much money I really have. It definitely wouldn’t be as easy as it was the last time, but still doable.

Juan Polanco...
I was just curious if anyone has heard of outfielder Juan Polanco before? Rangers’ Dominican Summer League Manager Jayce Tingler said earlier this year that Polanco’s a five-tool guy and that he’d never seen a 17-year-old with tools like Polanco (Polanco has since turned 18). According to milb.com, he’s listed as a 5’11, 175 lb. rightfielder (bats and throws righthanded) who hit .277/.395/.455 this year for the DSL Rangers1.
I didn’t know if this was an appropriate thread to ask, but I didn’t feel it warranted a Fanpost or Fanshot, and I figured there’s a lot of traffic in these game day threads.
I'm tired of the suspense. Why won't they just tell us what they mean by "male enhancement?"

I have a 55 gallon...
and it’s approximately 4 feet from end to end. They’re generally fairly heavy and unwieldy. As for marine tanks, they’re a big pain in the ass.

I used to be in that hobby until I realized I wasn’t committed enough to my aquarium to make it work.
Probably didn’t help that I only had a 10-gallon tank and just a few small neon tetras.

There's something oddly fascinating about...
having fish that I caught a few hundred yards from my house. Even though it’s 5 minnows and 5 sunfish, they’re kind of fascinating… and I’ve put a lot more effort into getting it “right” this time around (getting the nitrifying bacteria cycled, etc.).

While I was out there, I kept seeing signs for Las Vegas and, LA perhaps?
Thinking “I could just make a quick trip over to Cali… no big deal, right?”
Might have if I hadn’t already had all my game tickets.
I have a free place to stay
anytime I go to Anaheim. They might be Angels fans, but my friends out there are AWESOME. When I went there last summer, they surprised me by booking us a room in the same hotel the Rangers were staying in :)
Oh, and I also got to go to Disneyland and Medieval Times for free. Pretty sweet.

I think once or twice in my lifetime would be fine, every year might make each year less of an experience. I might not enjoy it as much if it is so accesible, if that makes sense. But yeah, I want to go sometime in the next few years, but barring winning the lottery (which is hard to do since I don’t buy tix) 2009 will not be the year.

I have only seen
Metallica and REM more than once. Everyone else was one and done, though there are some I would see again if given the chance. Technically I have seen Morrissey more than once, but the first time he played 1.5 songs then left the stage and didn’t come back, so not sure that counts.
I won't name the artist
But there is one I’ve seen 10 times (in five years). Another band I’ve seen six times (in less than two years).

I stopped
going to concerts for the most part a long time ago, I have only been to one (Morrissey) in the last two years, when I was a teenager and in my early 20s I went to one every month it seemed. When I lived in Seattle we were at some concert or another every week it seemed, there is always live music and a lot of them are free or “donate what you can afford” which for a poor student living on mac n cheese and ramen, wasn’t much.
Music is my off-season filler
I’ve been to 115 concerts since December 1997.

Im trying to work out the psychology behind you trying to call me out on this.

Yeah, when I spend hours making a .gif I like to get a few comments. Im not ashamed of that. So what? Not forcing anyone to reply or rec it.
And I dont spam dozens of images per game. This is probably the only homerun hammy will hit the rest of the year and my first chance to use it in a game, so i posted it full size. So what? Did it slow your computer down? I highly doubt it. Close the post in 1/10th of a second if you want it gone. Im very conscious of how many images are being posted and such and keeping things reasonable.

There
are not a ton of diehard Angels fans who watch every game. This time of year, a lot of bandwagoners who just realized they ran away with the division and are playoffbound are there, and they have ridiculous expectations. It’s sad, but that is the nature of the area. Don’t get me wrong, there are some great fans in L.A. — they are called Dodger fans.
I would agree with that, I think
My Angels fans friends are partial season ticket holders, so they go to a lot of games. But I think they were buying their playoff tickets a long time ago and just sort of counting the days without really paying attention to the games in detail. I’d like to be as successful as them, but I don’t want to grow that cavalier.

I have been a fan since I was 12, I doubt at this point that I would ever get cavalier if they finally started competing like the Angels are now. THat being said, one of the things that will absolutely kill me when they do start competing is the bandwagoners who will inevitably start booing our young pitchers (like what happened for a short time when they were above .500 and they were booing guys like Harrison and Hurley). I will get medieval on their asses, I swear. Just hearing them boo on TV made my blood boil.

Its tough a lot of times to differentiate on the field performance with actual personalities. GMJ and Laird are two guys that come to mind. GMJ was great here, but a total ass. Laird is still one of my favorite personalities on the team and has been nothing but a great guy from what I’ve seen, yet unfortunately is trashed a lot for not being younger and better.

with THIS team. I particularly dislike this team, mostly cus of Tex being on it, I just can’t stand the thought of him getting a ring with a divisional rival after the way he left town. I never cared much for GMJ and don’t get me started on K-Rod. Great players, I just don’t like them. Or Scioscia.

Just realized...
this is the last Rangers game I’ll get to watch this year.
I’ll be at the TCU-OU game tomorrow during the Rangers game and at a Cowboys watching party during the season finale.

We did
drunk posting at the Spurs site, and it was a disaster. All the men left after three drinks to go to the clubs and try to get laid, leaving the ladies there to talk shop, which the men then went and re-read the next day and had the audacity to bitch about it.
