MacMahon's take on the 2009 25 man roster
Tim MacMahon makes a prediction as to the 25 man roster next season...
It is pretty much the same group we've seen for the last month or two, except no Bradley or Laird, some "young stud" joining Millwood, Padilla, McCarthy and Harrison in the rotation, with Feldman going to the pen, and Gabbard as the lefty long guy.
Basically, no free agent signings, and the only trade acquisition being a pitcher that Gerald Laird is dealt for.
And you'll all be thrilled to know he has the Electrician returning.

I don't think...
Gabbard or Wright will be on the 25 to start the year. Wright will sign elsewhere and Gabbard will be in OKC.
I also don’t see Metcalf on this team unless Hank’s option isn’t picked up.
And I know he’s forgotton to a degree being hurt to end the year and all, but what about Hurley? I see him in the rotation as well. The Rangers will have to give up a lot more than OMFT+ to get a “young stud”.

Unless Chris Davis is traded...
Hank will be gone one way or another.
Hurley or McCarthy will almost certainly be starting the year out of the pen.
And please let Jamey Wright be gone.
YEAH!

Here's my prediction
With that lineup, particularly given the things I’ve heard about “young stud,” I’m going with 82 wins next year. Plus or minus 30. You can bank on it.
Nothing pithy here. Please move long.
If by stud you mean
mediocre back of the rotation starter.

Player status
So am I missing anybody in these categories: free agents (Bradley, Vazquez and Wright?), out of options (Cruz and Nippert), arbitration eligible (Laird and Byrd), and has team/player options (Blalock)?
Feldmans out of options
Bryan Smith (12:17:17 PM PT): Justin Smoak and Josh Hamilton. The AL West might just have found their Bash Brothers, v. 2.0.
Per Scott Lucas...
You can go to Scott Lucas’s website, The Ranger Rundown and there’s a link to the left that says “40-Man Roster & Salaries,” or you can get there by clicking here. In my opinion, it’s pretty reliable. Although, for some reason, Lucas doesn’t have Milton Bradley listed as a Post-2008 Free agent. It’s probably just an oversight.
I'm tired of the suspense. Why won't they just tell us what they mean by "male enhancement?"
