Fan Fest on Saturday
I am planning on taking my kids to the Fan Fest that is coming up soon. Has anyone on this blog ever been, and if so what is it like?
Do all the events last all day, or do they rotate events throughout the day?
I guess I am asking if we need to be there from 9 to 5 to get the full experience or can you do anything they offer at any time of the day?
What type of players and ex-Rangers do they have signing autographs? Are they big names or more of the prospect/backup type players?
Anyways, anyone who has any input or suggestions for me, please let me know what events to be sure and hit, and about how long I should plan on being there.
Thanks guys.

I went last year.
The events pretty much go on all day, but it’s the autograph signing and Q&A sessions that happen at specific times. There will be a schedule posted, most likely, very soon. Last year I got it from one of the blogs – T.R. Sullivan’s, maybe.
As for who’s there signing, last year there was everybody from Luis Mendoza to Michael Young, plus Newberg’s table of prospects and another table of alumni. If you want to get autographs from anyone who’s expected to be on the 25-man roster on Opening Day, though, you’ll have to get in line early.
You can make an all-day event of it if you want to, but if you just want to get a fix of Ballpark nostalgia, I’d imagine you could do that in a couple of hours. Hit up the museum and get some hot dogs. (I so did that.) Like I said, though, there should be a schedule coming out soon if it’s not already out to give you more specific information about the goings-on of the day.

I went last year
and it was pretty fun. They had a lot of big names signing autographs from the current roster, along with a lot of minor league players too. They do tours throughout the day, but they also have certain scheduled events periodically that don’t repeat.
I’m looking forward to going again this year… I asked the guy who renewed my weekend 15 mini plan and he threw in a few passes for free. I’ll bring a few baseballs to see if I can get autographs. Ohh, and definately a camera. My myspace picture is the picture I took last year with the Ozarka dots at the fan fest.

I'll be working it this year
There are quite a few names that will be there, and I know there are a lot of cool things planned for the fans throughout the day, especially for the kids.
Autograph lines are obviously the main attraction, so your best bet is to get there as early as possible.

I need to think something lasts forever, and it might as well be that state of being that is a game; it might as well be that, in a green field, in the sun.
