Byrd, Rangers close to a deal (reportedly)

T.R. Sullivan says the Rangers are close to getting a one year deal with Marlon Byrd done.

The Rangers haven't had an arbitration hearing since Doug Melvin was the g.m., and it appears that streak is going to continue.

I don't know abuot that

If i recall he was mid-range B this offseason which included the pretty good 2007.
Wash recently mentioned murphy in his starting lineup, if byrd struggles and loses at bats it seems possible he could lose his B status.

He probably won’t though.

the preceding post was a great success.

A guy who brings his lunch pail to the ballpark.

It’s a shame he won’t be a Ranger when the tide finally turns.

also had a bit on the top 9 SS’s of all time. good stuff, he was on it. also talked about arky vaughn. sometimes we forget how talented some the guys who fall through the cracks of history are.

good stuff. i think it was prime 9. not sure.

Luke Appling...

…a.k.a. Old Aches and Pains.

We couldn't have known it at the time but we definitely killed the wrong Belushi brother.
