OT: Ranger Bullpen Spotted in Austin
Actually, just people that look like the Rangers Bullpen. Really, somebody's joke:
AUSTIN (KXAN) - Austin drivers making their morning commute were in for a surprise when two road signs on a busy stretch of road were taken over by hackers.
"Even though this may seem amusing to a lot of people, this is really serious, and it is a crime," said Austin Public Works spokesperson Sara Hartley. "And you can be indicted for it, and we want to make sure our traffic on the roadways stays safe."

And then...come back?
Isn’t that the problem they’re trying to address?

this is why you encrypt the signs
there was a story on digg a couple of days about about how basically anyone who tries can change the wording on any of those signs

KG: Oh yeah.
Scout: Well, he spent a lot of it on milkshakes.

It's kind of like stealing mail.
Suburban mailboxes aren’t hard to “break” into. Anyone who wants to steal your Baseball America or Playboy subscription can just walk right up to your mailbox and take it.
It’s sort of like an honor system, I guess… and the whole “federal crime” thing.

Kind of funny
Especially how they describe it as a crime, yet it is a Class C misdemeanor. I’m sure the city of Austin will do all it can to make sure to punish those responsible with that terrible 500 dollar fine.

Awesome how the news article goes on to explain the actual construction details as if anyone actually read the article for that part of it.

What if everyone
totally ignored the signs? Then would it still be funny?
