That's too bad.
Does anyone know which of his sons will be taking over as the day to day owner?

RIP
I know he was cheap when it came to spending money on FA but he had what a lot of us would want…billions of dollars and a MLB team.
Miami bound...

But
He’s responsible for the new stadium coming up there. Long time coming.

An outdoor stadium
with no retractable roof. Seems pretty silly to me.
Nothing pithy here. Please move long.

Domes are for people
who don’t want go to games only to have it rained out. Retractable roofs need to be a must for all stadiums.
By 2028, Mark Teixeira will be in the HOF.

Snow is the problem
By April someone’s going to have their panties in a wad after the stadium opens in 2010.

So leave the roof opened most days
Its stupid to be postponing games due to bad weather in this day and age and its just as stupid to need a winter coat while watching a baseball game.
By 2028, Mark Teixeira will be in the HOF.

When I see someone design
a retractable roof stadium that can hold up with San Francisco or Pittsburgh, I’ll jump on the retractable roof bandwagon. Til then, they are inferior places to watch baseball. I’ve been at most of the retractable roof stadiums in the country, and have been rained on in some of the open air stadiums. I’ll take the rain over the sterile, retractable roof stadiums.

Wow
I thought I’d be the first to make a Billy Heywood reference. Little Big League was always my favorite of the kids baseball movies. It even had Kevin Elster! Soooooo much better than Rookie of the Year.

He doesn’t strike me as a controversial rich guy.
Child of the Depression, worked in standard meat and potatoes industries, generally stayed out of trouble.
Do you mean with Twins FA signings?

How about offering to have the Twins contracted?
if MLB bought him out? That seems like a good reason for fans to hold a grudge.

Fans in the Twin Cities
They’re much more happy about the new stadium coming along than they are angry about the contraction issue. It’s been over 10 years and they’ve been pretty successful since then.
