Good to see some positive, realistic pub for Kiker
He gets some seriously unwarranted hate here- a guy being as young for the league as he was and still K’ing a dude per is nothing to fart at, even if he does walk too many and hit more dudes than Padilla seeing double.
Look at the comments under Jeff Wilson's blog post on dallasnews.com. What a bunch of rocket scientists.- Keith Law

Did we already know that Harrison was going to AFL?
BA says he’s pitching there:
The Rangers, as expected, added righthander Tanner Scheppers to their AFL contingent, and big league lefty Matt Harrison also was added.
What are the expectations for Harrison at this point?
- Sp at best? Trade fodder? AAA SP?

I think he could be a #4
The 2009 Texas Rangers offense: sigh...

Yep...
call me crazy, but I think Harrison could still be a quality ML starter. He has shown glimpses at times.
Now the chance of him being that 4/5 type starter may only be 15%-20%, but I still think there’s that chance. I haven’t thrown the towel in on him yet.

Too soon to throw the towel
I want the Rangers to give him a fair chance next year and not jerk him around like they did with Doug Davis
As do I...
but he needs to stay healthy.
There will be a point where most of the starting candidates will get their chance next year. Injuries happen. Just have to stay healthy and perform when you get your chance.

A mediocre lefty who can't even K 5 guys per 9 in the majors?
You’re crazy.
Hank is 7 runs below a zombie replacement at first base. Do you realize how terrible that is? Zombie’s can’t think, they’re slow, and they’re often ejected from the game for eating opposing baserunners’ brains. - Ben quantifies Hank Blalock
Moyer is a freak of nature
And he still misses more bats than Matt Harrison.

Remind me...
what Scott Feldman’s strikeout numbers were coming into this season?
