Bye bye Minasian and Didier

Got this through the facebook feed just now:

The Rangers have let go three long-time employees: veteran scouts Mel Didier and Jay Robertson and equipment manager Zack Minasian.

Minasian has been with the Rangers for 21 years as the visiting clubhouse manager and the Rangers equipment manager. He moved from the visiting clubhouse to equipment manager in 1995.

Didier has been in baseball for over 60 years including the last six with the Rangers. He helped build World Championship teams with the Dodgers and the Diamondbacks.

Robertson has been with the Rangers in 2001 and came over with general manager John Hart from the Indians.

I wonder how much this is budget related. Didier was old so maybe he was just done with baseball. I imagine they are going with a younger (ie lower salary) for Minasians job.

Minasian

I think he was in a radio ad

‘When we need our equipment shipped for Spring Training safely and on-time, North Dallas Moving Company always comes through’

He was.

And the little bastard threw it for a swinging strike three in a 3-2 count. He’s blessed. And ballsy.

Didier is not happy

I think Luke French has a lot of potential. TORP potential.-Dstar

Seriously.

I was afraid he did something dumb enough to get him suspended for the rest of the year or something! Sheesh!

Team USA - bad news

ARLINGTON, Va. (AP)—U.S. national team forward Charlie Davies is recovering after suffering several broken bones and a lacerated bladder in a one-vehicle accident in which another person was killed.

Minasian?

The TAG/Josh dubbed “most interesting man in the world”? That’s too bad.

As for Didier, TR Sullivan must be devastated.

Hank is 7 runs below a zombie replacement at first base. Do you realize how terrible that is? Zombie’s can’t think, they’re slow, and they’re often ejected from the game for eating opposing baserunners’ brains. - Ben quantifies Hank Blalock

I got to meet Robertson last year

in San Jose while Bakersfield was in town. Very, very nice guy. Sad to see him go.

If I'm not mistaken, Robertson used to post here

but I think all his posts are gone now. Team must have had him stop. Jrobsdollars or something like that was his username.

Nolan: "We need to put out a press release saying that we let these guys go."

JD: “Nah, no one cares about these dudes, I’ll just post it on my FB page.”

Weird way to let the public know, no?

I find it sad

That 7 people ‘liked’ this on facebook.

Ha.

Yeah, what is there to “like”?

Also, have you checked out some of the comments? Man, some people are idiots.

Yes

The internet is a haven for idiocy. The physical separation afforded by a monitor and the intertubes allows people to spew forth whatever lunacy seems more prudent.
And as soon as a reasoned argument is presented against their stance, they drift away to another discussion…

Gee, that happens?

I don’t think I’ve ever seen that happen on LSB…

That is of course,

If you give anything on Facebook any attention or credibility. Between the attention whores and linkup seekers, it’s a wasteland.

Minasian

I’m sure he’s a nice guy and all, but the one time I met him in a semi-professional setting he was a complete jackass.

He was just incredibly rude for no reason

As if he took pleasure in it. It’s not much of a story really.
