Tough Ranger Trivia for a Slow Day

Here are a couple Texas Rangers quizzes I created yesterday for those who are having slow days at work or want to waste some time during their lunch hour.  I'm interested to hear how smart every one is when it comes to their Rangers.  There are definitely some guys I would never have guessed even if it wasn't a timed quiz (10 mins).

How many of the Texas Rangers Opening Day starters (1991-2009) can you name?

For those of you who like a tougher challenge, how many of the Texas Rangers Opening Day starters (1972-1990) can you name?

Heh, I got 115/190

I’m only 19, so it was tough for me. The most obscure name I got was Damon Buford, but I only knew that from a video game.

I got the entire 2009 opening day roster correct, and the one I had the fewest of was 1991 (2).

141. Was solid up through the 2000s but struggled after that other than the easy Ryan, Sierra, Franco, Pudge, Palmiero.

Hardest part was spelling them right. I could never get the spelling of Bouchele right. haha

166/190

Completely forgot some obvious ones like Dellucci, Everett, and Hidalgo which make me sick. Also I could’ve sworn I punched in Sosa, but evidently I didn’t and despite trying I couldn’t spell Andres “The Big Cat”.

136 for me and I managed to forget Will Clark, Kenny Rogers, and Mickey Tettleton, totally inexcusable

I also should have also remembered Dickie Thon. Also, missed Buechele and Newson because of a misspelling.

But I did remember luminaries like David Hulse, Jeff Huson, Royce Clayton, and Brad Fullmer.

There were some great names on that list that I haven’t thought about in ages: Monty Fariss, Craig Lefferts (did he really start Opening Day 93?), and Doug Strange.
