Jaramillo said in a radio interview, the day after decision to turn down a Rangers contract was announced, that he thought Kinsler was trying to overdo things this year, especially once Hamilton and then Young were injured. Kinsler didn’t take the right approach to the plate, Jaramillo said, opening up too quickly and not figuring out a way to fix it. Jaramillo’s remarks were just short of throwing Kinsler under the bus, considering his job as hitting coach was to give the player the means to fix things.

Hah, wow
Think Kinsler might want to rethink his comments now?
I think Luke French has a lot of potential. TORP potential.-Dstar
Certainly sounds as if Jaramillo thought something was broken and needed fixing,
doesn’t it?
And given Kinsler’s comments throughout the season, this doesn’t strike me as Jaramillo throwing him under the bus. “His job as hitting coach was to give the player the means to fix things,” sure ~ but Kinsler steadfastly denied anything needed fixing in terms of his swing and his approach at the plate over 2009. Jaramillo doesn’t seem to have agreed, and I have a hard time believing he didn’t try to do something to fix the situation. The fact that Kinsler didn’t make adjustments doesn’t mean that adjustments weren’t suggested.
Maybe a parting kick in the ass from his beloved, soon-to-be-former hitting coach will send Kinsler into 2010 with something to prove, rather than smugly resting on his 30/30 laurels.
Your 2009 Texas Rangers: "Can't take a fucking to save their lives" (lisa w, 2009).
Heh, maybe comments like that
will make the players a bit more welcoming to the new guy.

BUSTED.
Hank is 7 runs below a zombie replacement at first base. Do you realize how terrible that is? Zombie’s can’t think, they’re slow, and they’re often ejected from the game for eating opposing baserunners’ brains. - Ben quantifies Hank Blalock
"But,
it’s still the fault of the fans for not showing up".
"I don't condone steroids or any other type of growth hormones or anything else, but I could care less, and, for the most part, I don't think the fans give a (bleep). The people that care about it are the people that probably don't like baseball," - Jim Leyland
Something that puzzles me about this whole thing...
Is baseball the only professional sport where coaches can’t seem to MAKE players listen??
It seems clear to me that the NBA, the NFL and most certainly the NHL is ull of stories where coaches sit/cut players for failing to take coaching.

Hitting a baseball is the single hardest thing to do in sports
A players swing is so repetitive and they’ve mastered it for so long to make them change it isn’t easy. Also the fact everyones swing is different makes it even harder.
In the NFL you run a route, everyone runs the same route. If you don’t do it right you are gone.
In the NFL everyone dribbles the ball. Same ball for everyone. If you can’t do it you are gone.
In baseball, especially hitting, its harder to make roster decisions based on a guy opening up too soon in his swing, especially when hes still producing something.

In the NFL, every QB has a different throwing motion, learned over thousands of reps..
In the NBA, every player has a different shooting motion, learned over thousands of reps.
I “get” that hittin baseball has more nuance to it, but it just amazes me how impotent hitting coaches sound sometimes.
