but there is no way in hell the Royals do that deal.

Try Cruz, Salty, BGL/FX2, Perez/Smoak. That’s probably what it would take to get Zack now.

They don’t really need a first baseman, so Smoak probably wouldn’t be a big discussion item.

I suspect it would take something like Feliz, Perez, Cruz and a catcher if you really wanted to get serious.

That’s a deal I wouldn’t reject out of hand, either, by the way.

The deal offered is ridiculous, and KC would laugh at you, hang up the phone, call back, then laugh at you some more.

Always a good idea to take your two best prospects off the table when trying to trade for the best pitcher in baseball (who happens to be 25 and is cheaply signed for the next 4 years).
