So lets hear yalls TCU predictions for tonight?

I’ve got TCU 23 BYU 17

Hopefully this point reminds college pick 'em guys to enter picks... like AJM!

I can see TCU/BYU as both a shootout or a defensive battle, but I went TCU 24, BYU 13. I think Max Hall will get some good completions, but my hope is the Frog defense stands tough in the red zone.

My upset pick of the week is Oregon losing to Washington in a trap game on the road before next week’s Oregon/USC game that probably determines the PAC-10 champion

"Trap game"

that term has always amused me. Especially since people used it so much with the same UW team that upset USC earlier in the year.

This is the year TCU breaks into the BCS

If they’ve got an undefeated record, I don’t see how voters can put Boise in ahead of them. Boise’s only signature win would be at home over an Oregon team that struggled to start the year. In TCU’s case, they would have beaten two solid ACC teams on the road in Clemson and Vriginia, who are beginning to play better, along with BYU in Provo and Utah. Plus the Mountain West is a far better conference in talent than the WAC and might even be better than some of the Major Conferences (i.e. Big East). My guess is TCU 24 BYU 20

And yet...

…they run a running play, to set up a 40+ yard FG, rather than try to pick up another 10 yards or so.

That’s a mistake.

Don't know if it would have made any difference...

…but obviously, on a longer FG attempt, you can’t try to elevate it as much as on a short FG attempt.

and they scare the living shit out of me. Right now I can’t see how the Frogs don’t blast my Utes by 3 TD’s in 3 weeks in Fort Worth.

TCU beat Boise St. last year in their bowl game. Are in a tougher conference and have played a tougher schedule. The Frogs would beat the Broncos by at least 2 TD’s right now imo.

It’s your year Frog fans. Run with it.

Boise's win over Oregon is still holding alot of weight

I agree TCU should be above them but its not clear cut. Boise has become the name choice of BCS busters over the last few years and they started the season higher ranked and started it off by beating Oregon pretty handily. Oregon is a top 12 team right now. Clemsons win over Miami helps TCU alot but Oregons game next weekend against USC may tilt the edge back to Boise if Oregon can win. If Oregon wins I have a hard time seeing TCU jumping Boise unless Oregon slips up somewhere else and drops out of the top 10

He was actually suspended from the Corps

That was before my time, but from what I’ve been told, he was suspended for the incident. He regrets losing his cool in the heat of the moment though, from the accounts of people who were there, the SMU cheerleaders spent all day provoking the Corps.

I see that you’re not any more mature when it comes to discussing A&M than you are with JD. We do some strange things, so call us goofy, call us a cult, whatever, but the Nazi tag is extremely uncalled for.

Losing

to those Nazi Bastards is never good, especially when their program is one of the biggest jokes in NCAA football (beating Baylor is a big deal for the Ags these days) but Tech typically loses 3-4 games every season. Sometimes they lose less, sometimes they lose more.

That’s what happens when you play in a big boy conference.

Tech now routinely beats Top 20 teams and in the last 5 years have knocked off several Top 10 or Top 5 teams (Cal, Texas, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State).

This year Tech has struggled because they haven’t figured their QB situation (which is kind of a big deal with that offense). Once they found their best QB (Sheffield), he gets hurt so it has become a year of frustration.

This week they’re starting a red-shirt freshman so we’ll see what happens. If they lose, so be it but rest assured they would kick Utah’s ass all over creation IF your little program could ever become legitimate enough to play with the big boys.

Have fun with Wyoming this week!

"Dying ain't hard. It's living that's hard."

by Josey Wales on Oct 29, 2009 8:48 AM CDT up reply actions   0 recs

Ahaha...

The Utes are having a down year too. They had to replace their starting QB and a lot of talent on offense from the undefeated Sugar Bowl team and are still 6-1 and in the top 20. The only loss being on the road to Oregon by a TD. So your QB excuse is shit.

Tech would never schedule the Utes because they are scared of them and know they would get waxed by Utah. Hell, Tech will be lucky to go to a bowl game this year.

So you keep talking about how great your mediocre program is that had it’s best year last year and still didn’t win their own conference. Enjoy all those 7-5 seasons to come and the excuses that you play with the “big boys”.

Let me know when Tech can get to one BCS game, let alone two, and win them both. Isn’t it sad that little ’ol Utah makes your program look like a Division II school. Ahahahaha.

You lost to the one decent (and overrated at that)

team you played this year and went to the BCS last year because you were able to finesse your way thru your typical bullshit (Air Force, Wyoming, UNLV, Utah State) schedule.

You have one good win in the last 5 years and it came against a disinterested and disenchanted Alabama team who properly didn’t respect you because you’re freaking Utah and play a bullshit schedule in a bullshit conference where most of the country can’t see your games because you’re not televised.

The reason you’re not televised is because most of the country has better things to do than watch a bullshit football team like the Utah Utes.

Afraid to schedule you? We typically play 4-6 Top 20 teams every year. LOL!!! You don’t get respect because you’re fucking Utah.

How in the heck did I justify it?

Aggie-haters love to tell the story as if a mean horrible Nazi Corps member chased around a bunch of innocent cheerleaders just for sadistic joy. As such, I felt it worthy to point out that that wasn’t the case, that the cheerleaders had been trying to start something. That fact certainly doesn’t excuse his actions, it simply tells the “rest of the story.”

But hey, you’re the one with the undergrad degree from the school with the biggest bunch of barbarian fans I’ve ever seen in my life. I hope you’re proud of how they act.

Are Aggies so fucking stupid that they can’t come up with any smack on a little effeminate SMU cheerleader and instead need to pull out a saber?

NBC football analyst Tony Dungy believes that Florida QB Tim Tebow should be a high first-round pick in 2010.
“Franchise quarterbacks are hard to find, and I believe in this guy,” he said. Dungy also considers Tebow a better NFL prospect than Sam Bradford, Jimmy Clausen, Colt McCoy, and even projected 2010 No. 1 pick Jake Locker.
