5th round pick out of San Diego last year
I had never heard of him before this season.

I only picked 1 underdog this week
Which was Oakland at home

I had Washington at home just because.

So
6 early games, and at 1 p.m., only 1 of those 6 is still within 10 points.

although..
there aren’t a ton of a decent games this week.
1. Minn/Pitt
2. NYG/Ari + Dal/Atl
that’s really it for me.

Chicago/Cincinnati and Miami/New Orleans
Are both decent matchups as well

but boring matchups. Mia/NO will be a fun watch, but I think the Saints will ultimately blow them out,

they were able to beat Philly because Reid refuses to run the ball, but the Jets like to run and are pretty good at it. Oakland won’t be able to stop the Jets running game.

just needs to get some playing time. He should be the starter in SF anyway.
I don’t think he will be great. However, if he can stay healthy, get a little protection from his O-line, and not have a different OC and offense to learn every year, he could be okay.

I figured this was a gimme pick. Atlanta is a better team than Dallas, by a considerable margin. For them to get those points is evidence that the books know that Cowboy fans are going to bet on their team regardless.

And they lost on a last second FG in one of those games and had 1st and goal to go to tie in the other. So just as easily as they could be 1-4 they could also be 5-0 right now

He seems a lot happier here and is OK being the No. 2 (No. 3?) guy. Beyond that, I think that Quinton Ross is a solid cheap pickup as a defensive stopper. Can’t do anything offensively, but he’s got some value off the bench for this team.

Or...
…he can just go get another puppet.
He can promote Jason Garrett. He can find some random coordinator that isn’t on anyone’s host list.
This is the owner who went from Barry Switzer to Chan Gailey to Dave Campo, briefly brought Bill Parcells in when the team was drowning and he needed a stadium built, then neutered Bill and ended up bringing in Wade.
He’ll axe Phillips to make him the fall guy for a 7-9 season, and then will find someone else who will be just as nutless.

No, he was running great before his injury

He sucked last year
He ran hard the first couple years when he was getting paid 4th rounder money then got a big contract and has sucked the last two years

Would it be ridiculous to start Felix and Choice
and have Barber back in his old role?

You aren't gonna sit a guy who gets paid that much money till the 2nd half
Just like the Rangers will most likely start Kevin Millwood Opening Day next year when Feldman is probably the better choice.

He's also the type of running back...
…who has a short shelf-life, and is probably best used in smaller doses.
The problem started in that playoff game when they decided to start him instead of Jones, and he ran out of gas in the second half.

Do you honestly believe this argument?
Sometimes I get the feeling you just say things without thinking them through.

He used to put his head down and plow people over
Over the last couple seasons hes started bouncing things outside alot more. Running out of bounds more. Is it just coincidence that it coincides with getting a big money deal? Maybe. But i’ve heard players before talk about having money and not putting their body on the line as much to preserve their shelf life and get all that money since contracts aren’t fully guaranteed

So that ATL+4 isn't looking like much of a lock right now is it?

i don't think I know better than Vegas
Its just some people looked at that and immediately thought it was a lock the Boys couldn’t win by more than 4 points. Either we’d win by 3 or less or ATL would come in and win. The Cowboys have played pretty damn well for most of this season. We are coming off our bye and playing at home. I think we win by 10+ actually

Weird
Always weird to me to see a Cowboy running back running a route.
I think, in all the years Emmitt Smith was a Cowboy, he never ran a true pass route. On passing plays, if he wasn’t blocking, he would either:
1) Go out into the flat, or
2) Act like he was blocking, then release over the middle about 2-3 yards beyond the line of scrimmage.

those flat plays
underrated

Already 6 Penalties for the Boys
Anyone want to take an over/under on 11 penalties for the game?
