Gee...
who didn’t see that coming.
Anyone still want to say he wasn’t trying to ass-rape a team with what he was asking for Halladay to try and save his job?

Way overdue
This should have happened last year, but hopefully the Jays can move on and improve. Somebody needs to knock the Red Sox & Yankees off their perch!

I still have hope for the Rays in the coming years
I think they just had some underperformers this year. Maybe they can pull it together next season, kinda like the Rockies 07-09.

yup
out of that division, they do have the best starting pitching, and with Price getting another year under his belt, that team should be back to where it was last year

Rays
Yeah, I do think they should continue to be a factor in the East- they still have a great farm system, and a smart GM.

The East is going to be even tougher pretty soon
The Yankees and Sox are going to be there. But you know the Rays have to rebound next year. Not to mention the Orioles with all the young players they have. Hell, even the Blue Jays could have a solid rotation next year if Halladay stays and McGowan and Marcum somehow get healthy again. Glad we’re not in that division.

They do have some damn good...
young talent there.
And their ownership has shown a willingness to spend on FA’s. They could be dangerous in a couple years.

I like tho O's.
I’d love to see a Rangers/O’s ALCS.
Two of my very favorite ballparks.
Hank is 7 runs below a zombie replacement at first base. Do you realize how terrible that is? Zombie’s can’t think, they’re slow, and they’re often ejected from the game for eating opposing baserunners’ brains. - Ben quantifies Hank Blalock
Thad Levine
may have a new address before the winter meetings.
Elvis Andrus - 2009 AL Rookie of the Year
Mitch Moreland -Tom Grieve Rangers Minor League Player of the Year
Martin Perez - Nolan Ryan Rangers Minor League Pitcher of the Year
That'd really be a big loss?

Well since Nolan does everything
It clearly isn’t a loss at all…

Nightmare scenario
Thad Levine gets job in Toronto.
Convinces JD to trade top Rangers prospects, including Holland and/or Feliz, for Halladay.
Knows our organization inside and out, so he only takes the best prospects, even ones that may not be as highly regarded outside the organization.
Not likely
Ownership situation won’t be resolved in time for a Halladay trade this off-season.
I think the only way Halladay gets traded to Texas is in a trade deadline deal next July, assuming new ownership is in place by then.

The nighmare scenario for me would be
if he talked some of the best people in the organization to join him.

hell yes
Neftali Feliz says sit your 5 dollar ass down before he makes change...
Hi, Keith. Is this the year Edinson Volquez finally wins RoY?
No... for now.
Anthopolous was just on XM radio and said that the job is permanent, pending a new president/CEO of the organization who could go in a different direction.
