While somewhat entertaining...
…that post was excruciating. Would it have killed him to proofread that, or even just skim it once before slamming the ‘Post Article’ button? Brutal. Somebody get this guy a copy editor, stat.

Considering he just published a book, is touring the country, and writes for SI...
I can forgive him for not proofreading an entry on his blog.

On Bill Belichick, I think he is wrong
I remember Jim Schwartz talking about this earlier this year, and here is what he said…
“Here’s my philosophy on stuff like that. As a defensive coordinator for the last eight years, I would click on every coach’s press conference on Monday and I’d sit there with my notepad and start my game plan,” said Schwartz, who was with the Tennessee Titans. "I’d be watching film and I’d be catching information. I don’t know how many times I caught things like, ‘We got the MRI back and it was clear and he’ll be ready to go this week,’ or, ‘It doesn’t look good for him, he’ll be out this week.’
“It happened a lot of times, and that gave me an advantage, that helped me through the week. We’ll report our injuries and we’ll be upfront with everything the league requires, but we’re not into giving a competitive advantage to other people. That’s where it is.”

If Jeter had started his career in Tampa Bay,
he wouldn’t be any more well known than Michael Young. He’s a solid player and stacks up well historically against other shortstops, but the hype (and most of his Allstar appearances) comes from being a Yankee.
And I’m just glad he didn’t get the bunt down, because that would have only added to the lore.

That's false
Jeter is going to be in the HOF, and he deserves to be there.
Does he get more hype because he’s a Yankee? Absolutely.
Would he still be an All Star and a Hall of Famer if he’d played for a small-market team? Yes.

yep
Jeter will, also, most likely reach 3000 hits. Who hasn’t made it to the hall with that many? I can only think of 1, and that is because of gambling – ‘Pete Rose’

In the interest of quicker games Ron should just tell the ump he's pulling the Feliz card and the ump should rule the inning over.--Sherman McCoy on Sept. 4, 2009

Niether do I, yet
I do think McGwire, Bonds and Sosa do get in. After they do, voters will probably vote Rafy in. Although I personally think he should go into the Hall of the Very Good.

Jeter is significantly better than Young
The additional 40 or so points of OBP over a career is fairly huge. Jeter is fairly close to an elite 400 OBP guy for his career and Mike Young is right at league average, despite a very high BA.
There is no question Jeter is much more valuable offensively.
