Clarification on Award Balloting
Anthony Andro of the S-T was kind enough to email me to clarify a mistake I made in one of the comments regarding awards balloting.
Per Anthony, here's the rule:
All awards ballots are due after the games of Sunday, Oct. 4, unless there are playoff games to decide division winners and/or wild cards. Such games are considered part of the regular season.
So if Porcello pitches a no-hitter tomorrow, anyone who hasn't sent in their ballot already (and I'm sure there probably are a couple of folks who have already sent them out) and has a ROY vote can certainly take that into account in their voting.

From reading comments here, it seems like most
would say that it would be idiotic to let a single outing influence the vote, but I disagree. If Porcello were to have a dominant outing in a high pressure situation like a play-in game, I think it would be appropriate for that to influence ROY voting.

Feliz for ROY 2010!!!
Maybe the same folks that thought Volquez was a rookie last year will be confused next year too.

I wouldn't be surprised
Elvis Andrus - 2009 AL Rookie of the Year
Mitch Moreland -Tom Grieve Rangers Minor League Player of the Year
Martin Perez - Nolan Ryan Rangers Minor League Pitcher of the Year
But I think he has too much service time.

I think he's right
His service time after September 1st doesn’t count (if I am reading the rule correctly). So he is eligible.
MY BAD!!!
