Texas Minor League Free Agents
Didn't know AJ Murray was a FA. I expect the Rangers to resign Benjamin or a sign a FA SS to stash at OKC next year.

Meh...
not really anyone on that list that I think the Rangers should bring back. Although I’m sure they will bring back a few of them.

not even AJ?
Scout: He was a first-round pick right? Got a huge bonus?
KG: Oh yeah.
Scout: Well, he spent a lot of it on milkshakes.

Hes nothing special
Last time I looked at his splits he was similar to Eddie Guardado last year. Not good against lefties and decent against righties. if he can’t be a LOOGY he really has no use for our pen
Bryan Smith (12:17:17 PM PT): Justin Smoak and Josh Hamilton. The AL West might just have found their Bash Brothers, v. 2.0.

They brought back Metcalf?
I thought he was in KC on his way to unseat Alex Gordon. heh heh
I do hope they bring back the Pirate.
Josh Rupe? Meh. He can go and rot on another team’s AAA DL.

Yawn
I’d offer minor deals to some of those guys, but the system will survive their loss.

Unless they've re-signed...
…you can add Beau Vaughan, Emerson Frostad, Jumbo Diaz and Adalberto Flores to that list.
Re Murray, he was outrighted and briefly became a free agent last fall and was signed back to a minor league deal. Might happen again.

Vaughan must be resigned
we cannot let such a talented interviewer get away.

I thought I heard Jumbo Diaz had been signed again
Maybe in one of Jamey’s emails? I may be crazy

I don't the the org has much confidence in Murray.
If he couldn’t get a call up last September when the only situational lefty in the pen was Eddie, I don’t think there is a situation where he would end up with the big league club.

Fernando Cabrera
was the Pawtucket closer last year and put up stellar numbers. Eventually it is going to click for him at the major league level, so I’d like to bring him in and see what he can do.
What is this, Horseville? Because I'm surrounded by naysayers.

Why is it going to " eventually it is going to click for him at the major league level" ??

I just think he fits that profile
he’s got well over a K/IP at the ML level, so we know he can miss bats. He has utterly dominated the upper levels of the minors. There’s no science to it, but guys like that seem likely to eventually put it together for at least a short span at the major league level. From what I remember about the guy, he has a history of looking filty for a couple of outings and then being done in by walks or an untimely HR. He just seems like a decent guy to bring in on an NRI…

Royce Huffman
Wasn’t he almost called up at one point? That would have been a sad day.
That's why they call them business sox

Even sadder for Chris Davis
People wanted to call up Huffman to replace him.
