Richard Durrett has a Q&A up with Brandon McCarthy over at the ESPN Dallas Rangers blog...

It includes some discussion from McCarthy about the mechanical changes and the things being done to try to avoid a repeat of the shoulder blade stress fracture that has interrupted two of his seasons with Texas...

Check it out...

But, you also have to admit BMac is far, far closer to having a full healthy season the Thompson ever was.

Great interview!

This might be Durrett’s best interview to date. I nominate him for breakout Rangers reporter for next year.

Rangers need to bring in a practicing master of the cutter… Roy Halladay. That, I think, would pay dividends beyond the 30 starts Halladay would make as Feldman, Hunter, McCarthy continue to refine their use of the cutter and mix it with their other pitches.

Cutter

Didn’t stats show Feldman to have the best cutter in the league last year?

(Now whether or not he knows how to use it like Roy is a different story all together.)

Yep. You're right on both accounts. Halladay's cutter was 4th, just behind Haren and Danks.

I assume you're using PTV's?

I didn’t realize they had a leaderboard for those now. Awesome.

His first question should have been...

this really is a nice interview by Durrett

the answers seemed candid and the questions flowed quite well with the conversation

McCarthy gives a pretty good interview, don't he
