Tuesday a.m. Rangers stuff
As you may have noticed, we've tweaked the format and layout for the SBN sites. Feel free to provide feedback as to what you think about it...
T.R. Sullivan has a story up about the hitting coach interviews that took place.
Jeff Wilson writes that a hire may be made today, and identifies Jon Daniels, Nolan Ryan, Ron Washington, Thad Levine, and Scott Servais as having been the panel that interviewed each candidate.
Rush Olson has a story up on the Rangers website about Tanner Scheppers and his performance in the AFL this fall.

New Format
For the most part it looks pretty good, except when you go into the comments of threads. The LSB logo appears in the top left corner of the window and blocks the main thread post and makes the left portion unreadable.

Use AdMuncher
Instead of AdBlock. No such problems with intervention script format.

KG: Oh yeah.
Scout: Well, he spent a lot of it on milkshakes.

I wish they would change the way closing a comment worked
It would be better if when you click the subject of the comment it closed the comment and all its sub-comments. That would make it easier to hide whole subthreads that you are not interested in (like when some troll hijacks the post). It would also make it easier to match replies to the original comment when they get widely separated to to a large subthread in a previous comment.
Is this something that tball could do with the mad javascrips/css skills?

Oh, that is a fantastic idea.
Especially if it could be made to work with the new comments, but that might be too difficult – pressing “z” would still probably take you up to the closed thread.

I prefer the old format
just my opinion.

+1
The old format was a little slicker and more unique-looking. This new format looks more generic, like something you’d see on other random sports sites across the web.
One thing I really don’t like is the fact that the empty space below the fanpost sidebar when you’re reading a long thread is now white instead of grey. That’s a little too much white coming at ya if you ask me.

It was probably this way with the old format...
but I load the page, and don’t scroll down I can see 4 advertisements, 2 main articles, and 1 fan post.
That’s a bad ratio.

First reaction is preferring the old layout, but its fine and I'm sure there
are some advantages that don’t hit me.
i remember when they switched to 2.0 with the new commenting system there were a number of people who actually disliked that change, which was amazing..
the preceding post was a great success.
