Is there a restaurant called Beef O'Brady's in Texas?

Anyways as I said in the other thread
A) The boys sure try to force it to Williams close to the goal. Good or bad?
B) In position to win AT Philadelphia, how ginormous. That would upset conventional wisdom about the NFC East balance of power for the last 1.5 years.

OT, one of my roommates has taken to writing "inspirational quotes" on our wall.
One of them starts with, in his writing, “LIFE, LOVE, DICEPSION.” I think that’s “deception.”
None of them are actually inspirational, they just sound good without really saying anything intelligent.

Back when he brought insight, Madden put together a montage. . .
. . . supporting his belief that McNabb avoids interceptions by not being particularly accurate with the ball, so that either his receivers have to make an extra move for them, or they’d be incomplete, but never picked. And also, never in particularly good position for extra yards.
It was, at least, compelling.

We just won AT Philadelphia
I cant believe my eyes.
This changes the whole season in enormous ways. This is now going to be more like the 13-3 dominant team than last years 9-7.
Glad to see Micheals give Wade some much deserved props there too.
Garrett still calls the weirdest run game ever with all those delays, but whatever I guess, it’s working.
by Sharky on Nov 8, 2009 10:50 PM CST reply actions 0 recs
Also
The real difference this season is the defense, because Wade is running it.
It might not be something you notice every drive, every game, or every play, it sneaks up on you, but now, we actually stop people.

Philly, New York, San Diego and New Orleans is scary.

by brettgardner on Nov 9, 2009 3:49 PM CST up reply actions 0 recs
Of course it's not out of the question
but there’s devil’s advocate and then there’s actually predicting something. I would not be surprised at all if they go 9-7, but I also would not be surprised at all if they go 11-5. 10-6 would be my conservative pick at the moment. Injuries, of course, can easily scuttle things for this team.
by Brett Perryman on Nov 9, 2009 4:02 PM CST up reply actions 0 recs
I would say
That if this is as good a team as they’ve looked the last 3 weeks, then they should demolish Washington twice, roll over Oakland, and win at least one of those other 5. Maybe two.
I never predicted anything because frankly, I don’t know exactly what to make of this team. They generally looked like shit early, and have looked excellent of late.

LOL
In the game, towards the end, I kept thinking, you know, McNabb is kind of old. Hopefully his age catches up to him on this play. And then he got sacked too.
Weird stuff lol.
I dunno, McNabb has never totally sold me, on of those never got all the way over the hump guys, although I guess he got far enough, it’s just chance he hasn’t won a SB.
Anyways, as Reid kind of pointed out in his presser, it was just a close game, ten plays or even Ref calls that could have gone either way could have swung that game either way.
by Sharky on Nov 8, 2009 11:17 PM CST up reply actions 0 recs
Awesome win
Not very often that Dallas a) gets the breaks and b) wins the turnover battle in Philly. Ten wins should give you a real good shot at the playoffs in the NFC this year, and though they have a tough schedule the rest of the way, there are four wins there if they play well at all.

So...looking ahead...
Won’t they be favored in their next 3 games? @GB (who lost to the Tampa Creamsicles today), home to Was then home to Oakland on Thanksgiving? Not that any win is guaranteed in the NFL, but I have a hard time not seeing them at 8-3 (if not 9-2) at the close of November.
December looks gross though. Still, at that point you could feasibly lose to NYG, Philly, NOLa and SD and still make the playoffs by beating Was and being 10-6 (assuming a win @GB next week).

And
it’s not like the Eagles have a cakewalk. Look at their second half. Five road games, and not one of them is easy. Two home games they should win, but then Denver too. And they have to pick up a game on Dallas.
@San Diego
@Chicago
Washington
@Atlanta
@N.Y. Giants
San Francisco
Denver
@Dallas
The Giants have four losses. Are they only going to lose 1-2 of these seven? Again, two games they should win, but the other five are quite tough. They have Dallas and Philly at home, but again, it’s not like they always sweep them at home, especially when everyone’s pretty good.
Atlanta
@Denver
Dallas
Philadelphia
@Washington
Carolina
@Minnesota
by Brett Perryman on Nov 9, 2009 12:13 AM CST up reply actions 0 recs
Hmm...interesting.
It’s weird how the NFC West and (hopefully) NFC North matchups will end up working out for the 3 teams in the NFC East race. Going into the season, Green Bay and Seattle did not seem like games where the Cowboys would be favored by 7+, but it might end up that way…
Minnesota and Arizona are about what I figured they’d be going into the season, but I think there’s a decent argument to be made that Chicago and SF are tougher matchups than GB and Seattle.
Still, even if the Cowboys finish out the year well enough to win the division, there’s a greater than zero chance that you have to win at NOLa AND at Min to advance. I’m not sure the Colts could do that, let alone the Cowboys.
If Brad Pitt is playing Beane who do you want playing you?

exactly right
I was just coming in here to post that the chances of securing a first round bye are nigh impossible. New Orleans looks that good and they have a 2 gm lead on the Cowboys. Minnesota only has a one game lead, but their schedule is so ridiculously easy that I think they could win most of the rest of their games with Tarvaris at QB.

The only thing I’d say about the playoffs part is that I’m not sure that NO and Minnesota are all that unbeatable at home in the playoffs. I’m also not sure that they and Indy are the three best teams in the league. We’ll find out more in the next few weeks on that.
But NO looks like a team that could go like 15-1 and lose in the divisional round to me. I mean they could also go to the Super Bowl, but so could Dallas and GB in 2007 and NY in 2008. Their defense is schemed much better, but not every team is going to throw the ball up for grabs like they’ve taken advantage of this year several times, and the offense is tough, but I think that you can gum it up in a playoff game, especially if you get the right crew. You have to contend with the crowd, but that’s nothing new.
Minnesota has an attractive team because they have good lines and AD, but they aren’t dominating people any more than the Cowboys are. They are a very good team, and they may well be better than Dallas, but they don’t look all that frightening to me, just a good, solid playoff team.
I don’t know if Dallas could go beat both of them, but I think that someone like Pittsburgh, Indy or NE could. Also, in today’s NFL, a lot changes between week 9 and week 16.
