That's a pretty decent loogy
if he were to come anywhere close to that again.

Might be a signal of good scouting.
These Rule 5 selections rarely work out. But, the Rangers took a LOOGY candidate that wasn’t really mentioned much beforehand. So, maybe they know something about this guy that makes him feel he has a slightly lower risk of not working out. it would be cool to hear if the organization felt that way.
Pro baseball has always been a dream, so this is pretty freakin’ cool out here. -- Tim Steggall, undrafted Rangers minor leaguer.
The Rangers have done very well lately
scouting minor league pitchers. I am confident Snyder will be a serious contender in ST for the LOOGY role in the pen.

1st half/second half
pitched 61 innings with a 2.35 era and a /215 batting average against before the all star break, 35 ininngs with a 3.79 era and a .256 batting average against after the all star break, but it would appear that the explanation is that they tried him as a starter in August/early September but that didn’t work out. In a relief role he did very well indeed.

Just got off the phone with Rangers Rule 5 pick Ben Snyder. Will have the interview up ASAP.
