Crane submits new offer to buy Rangers
Per TR:
"ARLINGTON -- Houston businessman Jim Crane has re-entered the Rangers ownership picture.
Crane, who appeared to drop out of the running last month because he didn't seem likely to get approval from Major League Baseball, told club president Nolan Ryan on Thursday that he has submitted a new proposal to buy the Rangers.
Once again, Rangers owner Tom Hicks has three groups to choose from in deciding who ultimately buys the team. The group selected won't automatically get the team, but will enter into exclusive negotiating rights with Hicks to buy the team."

Well..
…this is what I imagine will happen. Hicks waits until the last minute and a bidder is chosen. He draws out the negotiations until all of our grandchildren die of old age, and then once the buyer is selected the NHL fucking rejects them. Then we start over. The Rangers sale will go through in year 2412. By then Micronesia will be the new Dominican Republic. Mexico will be a superpower. Canada will be annexed by the state of Maine. Carl’s Jr. will be running the United States.
idiocracy

We should all be very, very happy
that some other team didn’t offer Harden another million or so guaranteed or a 2-year deal.

i don't think harden wanted a 2 year deal
or, a player option is obviously better than a 2 year deal. I guess a higher option dollar amount might have been better
St.Louis kicked the tires on Harden but thought it wasn't a good investment
given his health and Seattle didn’t want to guarantee him money.
If Harden came here, he probably didn’t have any other offers for this kind of cash.

Did Harden have any other offers
besides Texas & Seattle?

C'mon
You know that nobody can answer that question. Only a few people know the answer to it, and they’re never going to say. If they do say anything you can’t be sure it’s the truth.

You are the only person in the universe
who doesn’t think the Harden signing was a smart deal for both team and player. You can quibble about the Millwood trade that made it possible, or the Lowell trade and you have a point, but to poo poo the Harden signing only shows your rampant bias.

I thought the deadline...
for all offers was a couple weeks ago and a decision was going to be made by the 15th?
If this fucking thing goes on any longer I’m going to…well I’m going to do nothing, but it sure as hell is pissing me off.
