What's left for the Off-season? Step 5?
I think we have to give JD credit so far this off-season. He is working with a limited budget and still came out of the Winter Meetings with a better Texas Rangers ball club. So that begs the question what is left for the off-season. I just do not think the Rangers are done this off-season. What are the biggest needs left for this club going into 2010?
Is it time for Step 5 of the five-step plan Jamey Newberg addressed in his article on June 12, 2009? http://www.newbergreport.com/article.asp?articleid=1451
So what's left and is it time for Step 5?

This is literally all LSB has been talking about for like three days now.
So I’m not really sure if that makes this thread genius, or late to the party.
If you want my take, I think the offseason is pretty much over. Bet they add another catcher and just sit tight until February, assuming the Lowell deal doesn’t fall through. Unless new ownership comes through before January, it appears JD has blown his wad (of cash that is.)
Hell yeah if
the club can get Josh Johnson and could sign him long-term. I would hate to lose 3 or 4 good prospects for just one year.
I mean even if they won the WS in 2010 with JJ and lost their top 4, I’d probably be pissed at this time next year.
Chris Speier for baseball commissioner! ;-)

I’d trade the entire farm for one freaking championship.

I would also
tender both of my thumbs, both little toes, and give up sex for a year for one WS ring

I'd get a hitter who is a healthy on base machine that
can torch LH pitching.
