Why can't they all be a class act like Roy?

I know it would not of happened, but this makes me wish there was more of a chance in Roy coming here. How can you not root for a fellow like this. Make me wonder what Rangers would take this high road....Face? he was demanding a trade after his temper tantrum last year. Hanks on his way out, would he do something like that? Interesting to think about....

I wouldn’t have cared at all if FOTF put out an ad saying how much he hated the team. this isn’t the era of niceties. get used to the fact that pro athletes don’t have to be politically correct and sugar coated

It has nothing to do with political correctness

It’s not something that a player has to do, it’s just a nice gesture showing the guy appreciates the city and its fans and understands how important his association with the team was to those fans.

to be honest, there are plenty of reasons to hate roger clemens and players of the like

FormerDriller, I think Pudge did something like that in the DFW papers after he left the Rangers in free agency

I agree that it’s a classy gesture. Guys like Halladay and Pudge realize the significance and importance of their long-term association with the team to the fans.

Then you have a guy like Clemens who refused to even acknowledge the Boston fans after leaving for Toronto in free agency.
