Happy birthday, Dave May

Happy birthday to Dave May, who turns 66 today.

May was a centerfielder who came up with the Orioles in the late 60s, and who bounced around with Milwaukee and Atlanta in the early 70s.  His biggest claim to fame was that he was traded by the Brewers for Hank Aaron, when Milwaukee brought Aaron back to where he started his career.

May came over to Texas prior to the 1977 season as part of the package the Braves gave up to land Jeff Burroughs.  May had one mediocre season with the Rangers, and was sold to Milwaukee the following year.

Update from Jeff Wilson

The Rangers as of now have about $5mill to spend on a right handed bat, and they may also look to add another bat… They may have to wait for Bay to sign…

I think $5mill could get Vlad, right? Maybe stretch that budget a little bit? Otherwise, you could do Gomes and another lefty OF… Who knows, the possibilities are endless

I don't want Gomes...

Vlad would be okay I suppose, his health/age just scares me.
