Pitt in trouble
That’s a tough place to kick a FG in good conditions.

Concur per Kelly.
I took Bama +6 (think they have good chance at outright win) but I’m not sure what to do with Texas/Nebraska.
It sees as though the rat bastard bookies want everybody to take Texas.

I've watched nearly all of the CBS SEC games of the week...
and I swear, multiple times per game, Verne will do something like the following:
“…and he picks up the first down on that run.”
And it will be a pass play in progress which is ultimately stopped 4 yards short of a first down.
Right now in this SEC Championship Game on the play before the half where the Alabama DB batted the ball out of the hands of a Gator player near the goal line and it landed near another Gator he was getting all excited about a lateral attempt. That guy is like crazy tenured in at CBS and probably legally blind.

Was he the one who said "will that be a forward pass or a fumble"
and the qb never let go of the ball
Riley Cooper's play this football season
may keep him from from ever appearing in a game for the Rangers organization.
9th Best WR according to CBS
3rd or 4th rounder. I’d hope he goes for baseball first
I still believe!
Is he that great of a prospect anyways?
Looking at the numbers, the power is there but not much else.

Obviously he's got speed.

Strangely enough

The Tebow is quite on top of things.
I believe I said after they beat Ohio State that they will lose 3-4 games this year.

BYU is the best of the bunch.
Clemson lost to a middle of the pack SEC team last week, and Utah will barely finish ranked in the BCS.

Clemson has a chance to grab a BCS bid tonight.
Texas gave up 532 yards and 39 points to a middle of the pack Big 12 team last week…does that mean that they suck?
What do tigers dream of when they take a little tiger snooze? Do they dream of mauling zebras, or Halle Berry in her Catwoman suit?
Clemson has a chance to grab a BCS bid because their conference gets an automatic, that's it.
They’re not ranked, shouldn’t be ranked, and should get beaten by 20 tonight.
I’m not a UT apologist, and only a casual fan (Baylor grad), but I will say that rivalry games are a horse of a different color.
Although that would also apply to Clemson-SC, I suppose.

UT runs a lot of lateral plays that they can bust against teams they clearly out-athlete.
I don’t think they have the WR corps this season to throw the ball downfield as much as they should, and with a first-year starter in Gilbert next season, I don’t know how much they’ll stretch the field next year, either.
And I say that with Gilbert being the best high school QB I’ve ever seen, on film or in person.

Clemson and Air Force.
"Clearly, I've been wrong. VY is awesome." - AJM
I would hardly say they struggled....
Both games were on the road, Clemson with one of the best home fields in the country, and both were in very bad weather conditions: The 2nd half at Clemson was played in driving rain and the game at Air Force was below freezing with extremely high winds.
TCU came to play week in week out, destroying the last 7 teams they played which includes Utah and at BYU.

What do tigers dream of when they take a little tiger snooze? Do they dream of mauling zebras, or Halle Berry in her Catwoman suit?

by robert_d_wilfong on Dec 5, 2009 11:17 PM CST up reply actions
What?
Anyone with half a brain can make a claim that the system is screwed up. It doesn’t matter if TCU wins or not. That doesn’t mean the system works.
Have you watched college football since the BCS took over? How can you claim that the system works? It works great for the “big” schools trying to keep a unlevel playing field. In no way is the current system fair. It’s all about $ and not finding out who the best team is in any given year.
"The only good is knowledge and the only evil is ignorance."-Socrates
My point is not that the system is a good one
I just don’t think TCU is the fourth-best team in the country, much less best or second-best. Its just my opinion. I may very well be wrong.
If TCU wins their bowl game, then we’ll never know. If they lose, then we will. I agree that its unfortunate that the system leaves those questions unanswered. Since we may never see a real playoff, I think a +1 format would help.

How many TCU games have you watched this year?
Ohio St. would score negative points against TCU, and nobody runs consistently enough against TCU to win that way (Ga Tech).
Alabama and Florida would probably both be dogfights, and I think UT actually would have the best chance to beat TCU, but I still think TCU wins, and after watching the last 2 games by UT, I don’t even feel like I’m going out on a limb there.

Yep
And like all quality teams that aren’t in a big conference — whether basketball or football — their strength of schedule is hurt by being in a weak conference, and by the fact that teams don’t want to play them.
You think UT or OU would do a home-and-home with Boise State? Of course not. The big schools schedule one other BCS school out of conference, and otherwise, just play Northeast Southwest Louisiana State and the like.

The Fightin' Compasses!
What do tigers dream of when they take a little tiger snooze? Do they dream of mauling zebras, or Halle Berry in her Catwoman suit?
Actually
Texas had Arkansas scheduled this year but they backed out due to scheduling problems. They also not but a few years ago scheduled a home and home with Ohio State, who is year in and year out, a top 10 team.
In the coming years they have teams like UCLA, Ole Miss, Cal, Minnesota…. plus a very good Big 12 conference schedule each year. Sure the Big 12 was down this year, but it wasnt last season…. wont be next year…
I would imagine it can be tough for teams like Texas to find some bigger named teams who want to play them in non-conference.
Look at Floridas non-con next year… Miami(OH), USF, Appalachian State, and Florida St…. how is that any better than UT?
You win the games they put in front of you, and hope the pollsters get it right.

TCU added a decent road game at Clemson at the last minute
Texas chose to add Central Florida at the last minute.

I don't understand why Patterson came out against a playoff system this week
I think Luke French has a lot of potential. TORP potential.-Dstar
Yeah...
that pissed me off. I understand his stance of “it does me no good to complain about it”, but it just makes him sound like he’s accepting the fact that they aren’t on the same level of these other schools, which I obviously disagree with.
The system sucks, but I know it isn’t going anywhere. In fact it will get worse. Fucking ESPN takes it over next year for the next 4 years. Sigh…

His argument wasn't that the BCS was good, he just likes the Bowl system
because it rewards his kids with a week at a destination instead of practicing all week & flying to the game the day before. That part makes sense. I do wish he would say something to the effect of ’We want a chance to prove we can play with any team in the country."

He did say that
His real argument was that until he hears a viable system for picking the playoff teams, he doesn’t want to talk abouta playoff

Nobody likes the BCS system
All the fans want a playoff.
The university presidents are bound and determined, though, that there’s not going to be a playoff.
