Rangers acquire Clay Rapada
Per T.R. Sullivan, the Rangers have acquired Clay Rapada, whose name sounds like a type of fishing lure, from the Detroit Tigers for either cash considerations or a player to be named later (which means, most likely, for nothing of substance).
Rapada turns 29 in March, and is a sidearming lefty who I assume will be in the mix for the Rangers' LOOGY spot this spring. He appears to be out of options, which I'd guess is why the Tigers were willing to basically give him away. The Tigers got him back in 2007 in exchange for former Ranger Craig Monroe.
The 40 man roster is now at 39.

I really like this move
What is his repetoire?
His career K/9 against lefties in the minors is 11.7. Given how little we had to give up to acquire him this is a great little move IMO.
Bryan Smith (12:17:17 PM PT): Justin Smoak and Josh Hamilton. The AL West might just have found their Bash Brothers, v. 2.0.
I don't see this having any affect on CJ whatsoever
CJ is more a 8th inning/setup guy. Rapada looks to be the type that comes in during the 6th or 7th to get a LHB out to get to the setup guys

That'll resurface sometime in April next year
Feliz says his greatest thrill was striking out Boston Red Sox DH David Ortiz, one of his heroes. Yet, when he called to tell his parents, his mother had a request: Strike out New York Yankees third baseman Alex Rodriguez, too.
"So when I did that," Feliz says, "I told my mom, 'There you go. There's your present. Don't ask me to strike anyone else out, OK?'
