Nope
Just a trade, a possible big time free agent signing and some rumors about dealing Max Ramirez for Mike Lowell.
Just another day in paradise.

Obviously you need to be in court more often.

You were lucky to miss out on one thing
First we heard we signed Harden: and the peasants rejoiced
Then 5 minutes later Buster Olney and a M’s beat writer reported it was the Mariners who signed Harden: Not rejoicing.
the preceding post was a great success.
Stats here:

And the little bastard threw it for a swinging strike three in a 3-2 count. He’s blessed. And ballsy.

B-Mac in Harrison in AAA

I home you mean B-Mac AND Harrison

"b-mac IN harrison" in AAA...
….dude?
"Anyone that isn't pro-choice never met you" ~Brian Thomas on Seth...
is it true that Harrison has been throwing mid 90s? or not?
So who's todays mistress? They're coming out of the Woodswork!
According to gameday in AFL. Nobody's disputing it.
Pro baseball has always been a dream, so this is pretty freakin’ cool out here. -- Tim Steggall, undrafted Rangers minor leaguer.
Yeah but
he still can’t miss bats
"I was going to say, 'You’re gay for Elvis.' But then I realized that I, too, am gay for Elvis." ~Adam J. Morris.
if that's the case, I had heard topping out at 97..
I don’t know if this is true or not but if so I have really high hopes for him.
So who's todays mistress? They're coming out of the Woodswork!
Oops.. heh
B-Mac in FOR Harrison
"I was going to say, 'You’re gay for Elvis.' But then I realized that I, too, am gay for Elvis." ~Adam J. Morris.
Who is this McCarthy guy you speak of?
Is that Feliz in English?
Feliz to start in AAA
(I hope)
"I was going to say, 'You’re gay for Elvis.' But then I realized that I, too, am gay for Elvis." ~Adam J. Morris.
Well, MLB bullpen would be fine to conserve innings.
But why would you put him in AAA? Especially if you mean starting in AAA, I wouldn’t burn the innings down there.
the preceding post was a great success.
You can manage his inning better down there then up here
I also want him in the roto all year.
"I was going to say, 'You’re gay for Elvis.' But then I realized that I, too, am gay for Elvis." ~Adam J. Morris.
Well I'm sure you could regulate his innings better in AAA for the next 3 years..
But hes already established himself as MLB ready and we need him, no?
the preceding post was a great success.
In the bullpen yes but not in the roto
"I was going to say, 'You’re gay for Elvis.' But then I realized that I, too, am gay for Elvis." ~Adam J. Morris.
Well he threw under 110 innings last year
Unless you are pulling him in the 3rd for 2 months in AAA hes going to have to either be shut down or spend time in the bullpen…
the preceding post was a great success.
I'd tap the breaks just a tad.

Id slam on those brakes
For all the success Feliz had last year it was as a reliever.
We’ve never seen him out of the windup so who knows how that may affect him. After teams had a look at him they seemed to do alot better against him. Guys who faced him more than once fared better.
I know I get shit for this every time but my expectations for Feliz next year are an ERA north of 5.50. He’ll have good K numbers but I think his walks will be high and he won’t last late into games cause guys will look for his fastball and alot of guys can foul off a pitch if they are looking for it and have seen it before even if it is as good as Feliz’s fastball

yeh I figured a little later in the season for that..but maybe not
So who's todays mistress? They're coming out of the Woodswork!
Here's the rotation we'll open 2010 with
1. Harden
2. Sheets
3. Feldman
4. Holland
5. Hunter
Feliz, McCarthy, Harrison, Hurley, Nippert, and CJ will wait for a shot in AAA or the ML bullpen.
By 2028, Mark Teixeira will be in the HOF.

He probably won't sign until close to ST when he can prove he's healthy.
hopefully we’ll have a new owner by then.
yeh maybe the Harden signing will help push him our way..I hope
So who's todays mistress? They're coming out of the Woodswork!
lol, nope
I still wouldn’t count the Rangers out of the Sheets race. He’s not getting the money he’s looking for right now and likely won’t sign for a while. That gives the Rangers a chance to get ownership straightened out and you know JD would love to bring Sheets in here still.

oh my god, I can't believe we finally have a "ACE"
instead of some fat sweaty imposter for all those years.
So who's todays mistress? They're coming out of the Woodswork!
Not B-Mac
Hunter is coming back to earth when his BABIP does
"I was going to say, 'You’re gay for Elvis.' But then I realized that I, too, am gay for Elvis." ~Adam J. Morris.
I don't like Harrison but if you do that's fine
"I was going to say, 'You’re gay for Elvis.' But then I realized that I, too, am gay for Elvis." ~Adam J. Morris.
I like Harrison too, just prefer Hunter.
I think these guys are all going to pitch their asses off attempting to stay in the rotation (out of the pen).
I think Harrison spends a few months in AAA
honing his new velocity and trying to find a legit out pitch. If he’s healthy and can do that watch out because that velocity out of a lefty could be deadly. I think he just needs more time in the minors working on it and because of the surplus of potential starters he’ll probably get that opportunity which is good for the club.
for arguments sake...why?
he improved vastly from 08 to 09 after adding a couple of pitches to his repertoire. Could he not improve those 2 pitches to the point where he could atleast stay the same or improve a tad?

I've got hunter at least above harrison
Hunter looked just ok, but man Harrison was horrendous after his initial run. Horrible to watch.
the preceding post was a great success.
And the headline makes no mention of millwood, heh nice work PR staff
the preceding post was a great success.
Some alliteration

Many here will hope you get stuck is court when the Rangers are going for the division clinching win next Sept.

I had swordfish for lunch
I was going to go for the snapper, but I thought, ‘I like the side items better on the swordfish.’ I had creme brulee for desert.
That's why they call them business sox
Helluva day.
The Rangers trade Millrock, the Mariners apparently close with Harden, turned out he signs with a “mystery team”..everybody hoping it’s us. Turns out it is. Different sources saying he’s going to the Mariners, different sources saying he’s coming here. Josh Hamilton being shopped. Lol
now we’re looking at Mike Lowell.
Good grief.
by TooLegitToQuit on Dec 9, 2009 6:28 PM CST via mobile reply actions
Good grief is right.
So much for the Rangers being paralyzed at the meetings this year. Gotta love having a creative GM.
im not sure this makes us more likely to make the playoffs
imho our chances of making the playoffs are tied to the success of the younger players like holland feliz hunter borbon andrus and davis that and hamilton and kinsler playing like they did in 2008
but the upgrade of harden over millwood make us winning in the playoffs much more likely
and this imo is exactly what we needed and i am very happy with it
A couple of names Camden Chat mentioned
as guys being exposed to the rule five draft:
Blake Davis, a SS they picked in the 4th round in 2006. He’ll be 26 next season and hasn’t really hit above A-ball.
Steve Johnson, who was the lesser player (Josh Bell being the greater) in the George Sherrill deal. He’s only 22 and was LAD’s #15 prospect according to BA before the season. He’s a grit and guile guy with maybe enough stuff to be a role player in a pen.
One thing I am confident of
is that the Rangers’ scouts have done their job and the PTBNL will be someone unexpected.
