Roberto Alomar accused of having AIDS

Roberto Alomar has full blown AIDS and insisted on having unprotected sex, his ex-girlfriend charged tuesday.

If true he should be locked up so he can never do this to another woman again. What a sorry pig he is. It is a shame people are out there that do this knowing what they have and how it could effect others. I don't care how pissed you are you should have some moral values in your life. But hey we are talking about the same guy that spit on an umpire.

The SportingNews has picked up the story now.

She stayed with him for another three years (if the story reads correctly), no longer having unprotected sex, and now that they’ve broken up she’s going to sue him.

Where does it say she lived with him for three years...

after he found out he had AIDs. He found out three years ago but I didn’t read where it said she still lived with him after finding out.

A few months later, the couple moved to Cleveland, where Alomar supposedly tested positive. Dall claims that after she learned Alomar had AIDS, she tested negative and no longer had unprotected sex with him.

They broke up last October.

There's are statute of limitations issues...

…on civil cases.

You can’t be injured by someone, then sue them 20 years later.

Most of the time it is 2 years.

but it can be quickly reversed by taking meds. Most likely he’ll live a full healthy life.
By quickly reversed i mean the symptoms not the actual infection itself.

I think the title needs to be changed to reflect that this is all alleged by a presumably angry ex-girlfriend, but I don't see why a story like this about a former major baseball star shouldn't be newsworthy.

I mean certainly it’s more newsworthy than some dude advertising his blog’s “Hottest Fans Contest!!!”

I agree

that this is more relevant than a lot of stuff posted, but this one just isn’t sitting right with me for some reason.

I guess I feel like this woman is dragging his name through the mud for money and we’re allowing a brighter light to be shone on her “story”.

Like I said, I’m normally not like this but this one just doesn’t sit right with me. Clearly I’m in the minority.

Odd enough that a line like this one just kind of disappears:

Alomar had it transferred to Brooklyn Federal Court on Tuesday.

And, for the record, Hirschbeck and Alomar have long since apologized publicly to one another for the whole spitting incident, and last I heard Alomar was doing a ton of charity work for whatever disease Hirschbeack’s kid had.

Wait a second

He kept refusing to get an AIDS test… that doesn’t mean he KNEW he had AIDS. Notice that he finally did get an AIDS test in Cleveland, tested positive, and the two no longer had unprotected sex? That doesn’t sound to me like he knowingly insisted on unprotected AIDS sex.

If this is true, then yes, the guy is an asshole… I’d say he deserves a good drubbing, but he might bleed and we don’t want that. The thing is, nothing’s proven yet, and the info I’ve seen so far (from the NY Daily News story) isn’t very convincing.
