Opening Day Meetup
Those on my facebook list have already caught wind of this shindig, which was mentioned late last season. But I thought I better bring it to the actual board for non-facebook people (I've been told they exist).
I will be making the trek to Texas for Opening Day (bigger deal than the game, I know), and would enjoy meeting up with fellow LSBers and putting some faces with screennames. I'll be staying with RachelB, that much I know so far. And we're probably going to the exhibition game on Saturday. And I'm probably getting some new ink with lisaw. And I'm definitely going to Opening Day.
I just wonder if anyone else is interested in a big meetup. If so, would it be better before the game? Or would we like to all sit together? I'm a planner, so I like to know things ahead of time. And since Opening Day tickets go on sale to the public on March 7, decision time is quickly approaching.
So...thoughts???

I'm also just about starved enough for baseball that I'm seriously contemplating buying a home-plate seat.

Me too.
I got a $50 gift card from my Mom for Christmas, and home plate-area tickets are starting to sound darn good.

You might also mention,
BBIMBF, that you have a potential “in” on getting early tickets so we can all sit together – whoever wants to, anyway
If we’re going to use that “in,” guys, BBIMBF is going to need an exact number of who’s going to want (and subsequently pay for!) those tickets.

Yes. A season ticket holder can buy opening day tickets on Feb. 25. He didn’t specify a limit, but I would prefer that if someone commits, they will also pay him promptly.
How about everyone who’s interested e-mail me - laney895@yahoo.com - preferrably by this coming Friday.

Ticket info
Homeplate seats for Opening Day are $220. (That’s a bit too rich for my blood. For that price, I better get a lap dance from a player of my choice.)
Group tickets for Opening Day are only available in the All You Can Eat or Upper Level areas.
I’m willing to go up to Premium Infield ($95) or maybe VIP Infield ($115). And I’d be more than fine with Lower Infield ($80) or Lower Box ($60).
In case, and we go through my friend, we better all pay him ahead of time…

splurge != $220. even that's too steep for me.
I’m fine with all the other listed options.
I guess a lot is going to depend on how many people we end up having that are going to sit together. A large group will probably affect our options based on seat availability.

Yes, and we may have to have a first, second and maybe third choice
in case my friend tries to order the tickets and we can’t get that many in that area….
I’d really feel good if we had a determined number by Friday and everyone could get their $$ to my friend by next week. So far, it sounds like it’s Rodney, Lisa (and hubby?), Rachel, boomer1, Butters, Walter Sobchak, Ben (and girlfriend) and me….and that’s all I have so far. Ten….
oc and utlonghorn24 seem interested in the pricey seats, which is fabulous for them…I just can’t realistically do that.

My spousal unit
will be using our season tickets and bringing someone else. There must be different limits for additional opening day tickets based on how long you’ve been a season ticket holder, because we can only get four more (which is why I didn’t bring it up earlier).
Anyway, it’ll just be me in LSB-land, though he may come down to visit and I’ll probably go up to see our friends in the seats behind our season seats :D

check the 230s section
232 is a great spot if you can get seats there – one over from where the rangers brass (well back then at least – the john blake’s of the world) used to sit.
you end up in the shade + the wind swirls around there
the problem would be getting that many seats there but id think anywhere in the 231-236/7/8 would be very nice

Problem solved.
Yeah. Spies. They're little guys with beady eyes and long fingernails. They plant bugs that can pick up the hush of a man's heartbeat - or the whisper of a falling hair.

I think
it was either the one right before this one, or the one before that. It was pretty recent, I know.

I'm thinking KnoxStalk is going to have to be a separate event.
I’d actually like I stay for the whole game on Opening Day.

Agreed!!
I’m afraid I won’t be able to attend KnoxStalk (unless I win the lottery or something), but I look forward to following it on television.

Today is the day
I must hear from interested people by 5 p.m. today via e-mail (which has been posted in here enough). So far, we have a group of seven — Lisa, Rodney, Rachel, Tim (txranger7), Ben+1 and me. Payment must be to our buyer (that sounds so illegal) by Wednesday or he will not buy your ticket.
I’m so looking forward to April 6 :)

Hope everyone has sent their checks to my pal
Also…I’m sure there will be more LSBers there besides just those of us sitting together. Do we want to try and meet up pre-game or post-game on the concourse or something? Even if just for a few moments.

I sent my check - I hope he got it!
I did buy a cheap 3-pack yesterday, though, just for the security of knowing I do have Opening Day tickets to my name… you might say I have some control issues. Hopefully they will be listed on StubHub very soon!
I’d love a meetup with the whole crowd!

season ticket holders...
were able to buy lower level opening day tickets (4) yesterday with unique code
today season ticket holders can buy tickets to ALL games with non-unique code
from experience – rangers hold back a lot of better seats for season tickets, etc. last year rangers released a lot of nyy games in lower level premium the week of the game
