just my 2 cents

head to head leagues kinda suck.

If you want a league that rewards building the best team, rotisserie is the format to use. H2H rewards luck more than skill IMO.

I can change it to Roto

But sometimes a team runs away with it and the league becomes stagnant… but I’m def open to a vote

by BuckyB on Feb 16, 2009 3:39 PM CST up reply actions

ok, my vote is roto

but I’ll probably join regardless, I want to be able to scoreboard everybody here.

i like roto too

head to head to me is a football thing.

i’m in, either way is fine, but roto is preferred.

is there anyway we can get HOLDS in instead of quality starts?

on the holds. i guess switching holds for quality starts would put middle relievers at way too much a weighted advantage over starters. qs is fine.

20 teams??

that usually the norm in roto leagues?

i don't think it'll reach 20

if it does, it’ll make things interesting. it’ll thin out the league, but i’ve never been in a league with more than 10 teams. it’ll make it real interesting. keep owners on their toes for sure…but i doubt it’ll get to 20

A bigger group makes head-to-head more fun

But I really don’t care. It’s always fun to have a group of Rangers homers in a fantasy league.

That's pretty big

but heck, it forces people to be creative. And we’re a pretty smart group – 20 people may be fun. (The draft, on the other hand, will be a disaster)

One other humble suggestion

replace batting average and OPS with OBP and SLG.

this live draft is going to be insane

i’ve never been part of any league that had more than 14 teams, and during that draft…i think i left to go play golf…

well

20 team league, probably 15 take part in the live draft.

by the middle rounds half will take off…3-5 will still be around for the last pick.

would be amazing if all 20 show up to draft, and 10 stay all the way

i definitely plan to stay, in a league this deep those last few bench spots could prove vital

one request though, as commissioner can you send out an email reminder a day or so before the draft?

LSB AL-Only Keeper League

There is an open spot in the espn.com AL-Only keeper league that is made up of LSB folks. You would be taking over ownership of the 4th place team (out of 9) from last year. Here are some of the details:
You can look at the team’s roster here.
You have to select 5 players to keep for the upcoming season.
We haven’t set any draft date yet, but it will be coming soon once everyone’s teams are prepared.
You can probably take a look at the league settings, etc when you click on that link.

I’ll make it first come first serve, but you’ve got to be serious about this league all year, and have an interest in the long-term nature of the league. Post your email in a reply, and I’ll send the invite.

On a related note

some guy on LSB hosted a league last season that had only one stat – HRs

I was wondering how that turned out for those that played and whether there was a plan to renew it this season

I wanted to join, but missed out last season – still interested

Team chemistry trumps all!!!!

looks like an autopick draft, 12 teams

I haven’t signed up yet, but I might if it’s changed to a live draft. Autopick always leaves me with a team I don’t like.
