So now we know what Cahill and Anderson are on...

I don't follow

If you were being facetious…ha?

If you weren’t, Alejo was hired in November…well after Cahill/Anderson had finished their seasons.

Wow...

what a fantastic article!

I'd love for part of the "new look" to be a return to the red uniforms of the 1990s. - Ian Kinsler

Wow

What a messy issue.
It shows you what is probably going on in football. Just because people aren’t getting caught doesn’t mean they aren’t using; they’re simply smarter about it in a more tolerant system.

So

There’s hope for MY to regain some 3B-like power!

The moves being made are too extra for my taste.

this is a jaw dropper

i don’t want to believe it, but it sounds pretty convincing. Just sounds like there’s no hope for the anti-dopers.

There isn't

Its always going to be this way. Baseball will always be one step behind the steroid users. There really isn’t much you can do except keep the punishments strict, keep working on improving testing, and let the rest play out.

By 2028, Mark Teixeira will be in the HOF.

sport will always be one step behind them

Scout: He was a first-round pick right? Got a huge bonus?
KG: Oh yeah.
Scout: Well, he spent a lot of it on milkshakes.

Also, it would be in

DR. X2’s best interest to keep what he’s doing quieter because if everyone thinks all successful athletes are doping it could turn people off sports. Sure bums me out.

1. People like me questioning

why they are spending so much time/energy/money following a team when it’s really the guys with the best drugs that will win.
2. Parents not wanting to turn their kids on to sports because they are disgusted by the morality of the players and worry their kids will pursue it and get into something dangerous.
3. No champion could dominate a sport without their methods being questioned.

Same reasons MLB was trying to give the appearance of cleaning up.

no offense but there are bigger problems with sports than if they are taking steroids, ESPECIALLY when it comes to morality

did you have this problem in the mid-late 90s? when no one really knew about steroids?
what about the NFL, where it has been going on FOREVER?

and no champion could dominate the sport without methods being questioned?

you realize its not like these steroids can make will carroll into barry bonds – they dont give you talent overnight. they dont give you talent at all. what they do is help you get stronger, faster and help you recover (often why they are used by RP)

I think the recovery thing is an interesting subject

While these drugs help players get stronger than they were before, some of them also help a lot in a player recovering from injuries yet they can’t take them because they are banned and if they are caught, they’ll be crucified in the public’s eye.

What are some of these 'bigger' problems?

Don’t get your argument. To me, if Barry Bonds breaks Babe Ruth’s record without steroids, it’s something to celebrate. If he does it with talent and hard work, and even if he uses modern training methods that help him get stronger, it’s a great achievement. But if he breaks the record because of, or aided by steroids, i see it as cheating, and it turns me off to him and even turns me off baseball a little. If the thought of all your sports heros doping doesn’t cool your admiration for them, then we’re just different.

And as far as recovery goes, a doctor will prescribe steroids to help reduce inflammation and speed recovery from an injury, but what these guys are doing is way beyond your 7-day steroid course. The long term use of steroids stunts the body’s natural production of them which is why they are prescription drugs and are only used long term for patients with chronic conditions that require them.

The only solution i see for MLB is to store the blood and urine samples for future testing, and to have the power to punish for past offenses as new PED tests are created.

With the recovery

It seems like you have a lot of players now trying stuff that is available over the counter but still gets them tested positive for steroids. Its not that black and white
