injury risk pitchers for this year
These guys have crunched some numbers and determined several criteria to help identify pitchers at risk for injury. Nothing is really groundbreaking, but I did find it interesting that their study showed the strongest correlation of injury risk to percentage of breaking pitches thrown. Anything over 25-27% seems to be a big red flag.

Suprised to see Greinke on there. They sure seem convinced Ricky Nolasco is an injury waiting to happen.
Interesting that Ben Sheets was one of the risks they felt good about taking (until now anyway).
Yeah. Spies. They're little guys with beady eyes and long fingernails. They plant bugs that can pick up the hush of a man's heartbeat - or the whisper of a falling hair.

Curves/Sliders
I thought there was a pretty notable difference in the injury risk from throwing sliders to throwing curveballs. Shouldn’t they be 2 different categories?

the study is based on statistics
the methodology is here.
those guys look to have a pretty cool blog for fantasy purposes. quite a bit of good info there that you won’t find in more mainstream sites. I like it, anyway.
"drawing walks is an overrated trait in my eyes."
"i do believe we could have 4 30 start pitchers in the rotation."

What I'm wondering though
is there a difference between pitchers throwing a lot of sliders vs. pitchers throwing a lot of curveballs. I did skim that article looking for where they were talking about the slider/curveball part of their analysis, but it looks like they just grouped both pitches in one category. I’ve always read that curveballs are safer on the arm than a slider which is why I think its strange that they grouped both pitches together.
