MLB the Show '09
Anyone play this series? I don't own a PS3 (yet), but I'm really thinking about buying one when '09 drops in a couple days. This year's big features are progressive lighting, so you can witness the day progress into night during your evening games. Also included is a sound editor for creating your own intro music for batters, HR music, and intro reliever music.
Right now I'm compiling a few lists of music that I want playing for my Ranger at-bats.

Is this really diary worthy?

As much as I enjoy talking baseball videogames, I'd have to agree
Considering there’s a thread involving MLB ‘09 literally two posts down, this probably should’ve been a comment in that thread.

I'm a big fan...
of the MLB The Show series. I also don’t have a PS3 and I really doubt this or any game will make me go out and purchase one ’til the price on the damn thing comes down.
I will probably be buying it for the PS2 though like I have the last 4 or 5 years. Hopefully it will have all the same features as the PS3 version, just with limited graphics.

Yep, I'm in the same exact boat
I think I’ve played all The Show’s versions, going back to 2005 before it was called “The Show” (just “MLB 2005” and Vin Scully was one of the voices) and I’ve loved them all.
Problem is, I don’t have a PS3 or the money to get one… so I’ll just hope they keep making PS2 versions until I finally get with the times and upgrade.

I need a ps3.
Ive been spending too much money lately to get one right now though.
Oh well. The mlb2k9 demo wasn’t bad at least. Maybe it will be decent again (2k7 was solid).
p.s. it was recently announced that a sequel to the well liked “the bigs” will come out this year.
the preceding post was a great success.

The Bigs
I enjoyed the homerun derby quite a bit but had little use for actually playing a game on it…
I had a secret meeting in the basement of my brain.

they play it ALL THE TIME where my brother goes to school
evidently full seasons, all innings, etc
which is nuts
Scout: He was a first-round pick right? Got a huge bonus?
KG: Oh yeah.
Scout: Well, he spent a lot of it on milkshakes.

Played both games for PS2...
and MLB 2K9 is pretty awful right out of the box. I’m sure that’s no surprise, but you’ve got random AA guys signed at 40M a year.
09 The Show is better, although the roster management screens are kind of fubared, and I don’t see a way to schedule promotion days from the business management screen (although you can auto schedule, which is a huge step up).
LOL Sorry the Sooners will score more that 14. - boomer1
