Davis

Well for one he has been struggling this spring which doesn’t normally lend itself to hitting higher in the order.

And another thing, hes still a young guy. With Hammy, Cruz, Hank and Byrd in the lineup 3-6 Davis is going to be forced to hit 7th or worse. And if Salty continues his torrid pace I wouldn’t be surprised if he leapfrogged Davis. Hitting 7th or worse in the Rangers lineup is not exactly a bad thing. Someone has to hit there and with the amount of good offensive players on the team its inevitably gonna push a talented player towards the bottom.

Bryan Smith (12:17:17 PM PT): Justin Smoak and Josh Hamilton. The AL West might just have found their Bash Brothers, v. 2.0.

Dunno about that

Wilkerson hit a few HRs in ‘07, which was nice, I guess (still do remember that game against the Angels when he hit what – 3 or 4?) but his overall production was as lousy as Cat’s – OPS+’s of 86 and 104 in his two years here (Cat’s gone 104 and 97, so actually Whiffy was slighlty worse).

…this is his first full season back 100%.

If he performs in AAA, he’ll be in the majors before too long. Diamond and Moscoso are the guys I see poised to jump up and claim a spot in the bullpen if someone gets hurt or sucks.

Meanwhile, something like 28,000 teachers statewide have received notices they might be laid off

Not all of them will be laid off (state law says they have to be told of the possibility by March 15) but still… we can’t afford to fully fund school districts but we’re stuck paying for some stupid bitch who has had 14 kids, ALL OF THEM through in-vitro.
