Good things come to those who wait
Or at least we hope so, in this case. Should get to see a lot of him this season, and it will be interesting to watch him adjust (and hopefully progress) as the season wears on.
Here’s hoping we are all, like you, patient.
I get the feeling that...
Wash will be hitting Davis 9th after Andrus before too long. I don’t get whats with Wash and batting Davis as low as possible.
FB trumps all!!!!!!
It's more than just Wash choosing to bat him 8th.

7th, 8th
bottom 3rd

Davis
Well for one he has been struggling this spring which doesn’t normally lend itself to hitting higher in the order.
And another thing, hes still a young guy. With Hammy, Cruz, Hank and Byrd in the lineup 3-6 Davis is going to be forced to hit 7th or worse. And if Salty continues his torrid pace I wouldn’t be surprised if he leapfrogged Davis. Hitting 7th or worse in the Rangers lineup is not exactly a bad thing. Someone has to hit there and with the amount of good offensive players on the team its inevitably gonna push a talented player towards the bottom.
Bryan Smith (12:17:17 PM PT): Justin Smoak and Josh Hamilton. The AL West might just have found their Bash Brothers, v. 2.0.
game starts at 2 right
like the starters lineup
except for
frank freakin catalanotto hitting ahead of CD
Nope, it starts at 3.

I wonder
if they could work out a deal with Cat like the Dodgers did with Jones where instead 6 mil this year and the 2 mil option next year they change it to a mil a year for thr next 8 years so they can go ahead and release him and he might could play for another 2 or 3 years somewhere he actually fits
Whatever happened to Kaz Fukumori?
Did he just take Big Daddys 3 million and run? At least the Rangers have the option for 2010.
What's the Nef tally??
He had surgery on a herniated disk
on Halloween. That’s the last I’ve heard of him.
"I saw your act, just didn't make it for me. Just a lot of fluff."
I suspect he's in the minor league camp
Although I’m not sure what this:
Did he just take Big Daddys 3 million and run?
means.
by Adam J. Morris on Mar 15, 2009 1:50 PM CDT up reply actions
He signed a 2 year deal for $3 million
And he was outrighted last season, so he’s not on the 40 man roster anymore.
by Adam J. Morris on Mar 15, 2009 2:14 PM CDT up reply actions
so he took the money
and stayed
Probably being held out so Catalanotto can play
Because, you know, it’s important to get Frank frakking Catalanotto at-bats.

Come on
We’re bitching about starters sitting in a spring training game when we are still about three weeks from the start of the season?
Geez…
by Adam J. Morris on Mar 15, 2009 2:16 PM CDT up reply actions 1 recs
Not so much the starters
But how about a hotshot minor leaguer (or even a not-so-hotshot minor leaguer) instead? Surely there’s someone else who could actually utilize these AB’s.
Now blogging again (temporarily) at "Hello Win Column".
So...
Your position is that Catalanotto should not even get a spring AB?
Really?
by Adam J. Morris on Mar 15, 2009 2:27 PM CDT up reply actions
No
My position is that he shouldn’t ever start a game in left field. Not even in spring training.
Now blogging again (temporarily) at "Hello Win Column".
And after all
Supposedly the reason to keep him on the 25 is to have him PH… so let him practice that this spring.

You think maybe they'll sic a naked actress on me?
Now blogging again (temporarily) at "Hello Win Column".
Jonny hates him some Cat..
I have a feeling he’d rather see him on an asian menu than in a Ranger uniform.
What's the Nef tally??
Eh, I don't hate him per say
I just think he’s the biggest waste of playing time this team has given out since Phil Nevin.

What about
Ben Broussard

Whiffy Whifferson.. ughhhh
at least the 2 of them didn’t stick around that long.
What's the Nef tally??
Wilkerson and Cat
have given some good things to the team. BB and CS did not.

Dunno about that
Wilkerson hit a few HRs in ‘07, which was nice, I guess (still do remember that game against the Angels when he hit what – 3 or 4?) but his overall production was as lousy as Cat’s – OPS+’s of 86 and 104 in his two years here (Cat’s gone 104 and 97, so actually Whiffy was slighlty worse).
Now blogging again (temporarily) at "Hello Win Column".
let's just say ...
all 4 of them have pretty much sucked just for varying amounts of time.
What's the Nef tally??
hhmm....
The Rangers have made roster moves, but they are not releasing names until the players have been notified.
Oh really?? Pack your shit Andruw……and gets to steppin’!!

Not all of them will be laid off (state law says they have to be told of the possibility by March 15) but still… we can’t afford to fully fund school districts but we’re stuck paying for some stupid bitch who has had 14 kids, ALL OF THEM through in-vitro.
