You must be kidding.

Hopefully not too serious. McCarthy already survived a brief scare, maybe the other red cross poster child can stick it out.

lots of overreactions on the injury front

leaving a game with tightness in a quad is not something that worries me

Yeah

Now if he’d have left the game after getting run over by a quad…

same can be said about mccarthy

but i didn’t really feel like overreacting about a sore shoulder

I agree...

but only if it was about any player other than Blalock or McCarthy. The amount of time those two have missed the last two seasons creates cause for concern even with the slightest of injuries imo.

I hope it’s nothing too serious.

Well

Blalock and brittle Brandon are constitent!

Seriously though

I guess this means Nelly Cruz is temporarily back to being the top candidate for the cleanup spot?

not sure if this has been linked yet

but, it’s the “Team Health Reports” from BP.

good amount of red on there:

Salty, Byrd, Hamilton, Blalock, Padilla, Francisco, Bmac.

Everyone else is yellow…only green (good bill of health for the upcoming season) is Andrus and Feldman.

Stability is key, and JD is a Beast.

There was another site

that broke down DL time for each player last year (and maybe for a few cumulative years) and the nature of the injury. Anyone else come across this site? I can’t seem to find it…

by Goyogringo on Mar 15, 2009 7:13 PM CDT up reply actions

This might be it.

Link.

Don’t know if that’s exactly what you’re looking for. DL times back to 2001 and type of injury.

by Andy Seiler on Mar 15, 2009 7:19 PM CDT up reply actions

yea he does

how in the hell can you justify batting jeter 3rd? it is bad enough that he is just now playing rollins at short over jeter, but how does batting jeter 3rd and DH even arise as a possibility?

by trgordon723 on Mar 15, 2009 7:21 PM CDT up reply actions

DeRosa

Though he hasn’t gotten enough playing time to count on his bat at this point in the tournament.

by Andy Seiler on Mar 15, 2009 7:36 PM CDT up reply actions

well looking at the roster

i would probably dh jeter but bat him towards the end of the order

by trgordon723 on Mar 15, 2009 8:04 PM CDT up reply actions

mccan

would be ideal if you thought you could get away with one catcher

The Neds have some interesting pitchers.

I’ll feel said for them when they get mercy ruled. Hope they score a run here.

It's nice to see

Shields and Ziegler getting hit.

Their command was really off.

Seems most of the US pitchers have had major trouble hitting their spots.

Hopefully

pulling him was just a precautionary move, much like Kinsler’s couple days off.

Wash said

he is definitely playing on Tuesday. It went along with the article saying how much longer ST is this year and how they are trying to figure out ways to not burn guys out

Injured

Why is everyone down on Blalock for injuries? He’s only had one injury that I recall . . last years torn hamstring. The others were syndromes, (Thoracic Outlet Syndrome and Carpal Tunnel Syndrome) not injuries.

Kinsler has missed over 60 games the last two years with a stress fracture and a sports hernia but nobody seems concerned about his injury risk.
