Nolan Ryan's 7th No-no on MLB Network right now
May 1, 1991 Against the Blue Jays.
It's cool watching them play at the old ball park.

Sierra just hit a 3 run bomb
They played the “Shout” song as he rounded the bases. I liked that better than the Natural song. Except maybe when Josh loses one.

It is a little silly when a random guy like Metcalf hits a home run
and they play The Natural music.
How
Do you think this one ends? I think Olerud breaks it up. Anybody? Yeah? I need a job as well. I can read? Please?

Frustrating thing
is I just finished a Ph.D. in Industrial/Organizational Psychology in August. Haven’t found work in the 7 months since.

The Natural
You guys are way off base here. The music from The Natural is one of the few traditions that the Rangers have. It is perfect for The Ballpark In Arlington.
Last year Chuck Morgan started mixing in different versions of the music. It is timeless. I don’t care who it is, Metcalf or Hamilton, there is nothing ever “silly” about The Natural for a home run at a Rangers game.

I liked it better in the 80s...
…when Ranger home runs were greeted with “Let’s Hear it for the Boy”.
We couldn't have known it at the time but we definitely killed the wrong Belushi brother.
Good call.
Great memories, I miss that little ballpark.

Part of the reason for me:
I didn’t want to see Maris’ record get broken. It was blatantly obvious that there was juicing(both the balls and the players). It just seemed like a mystical record and number(61) were being cheapened so they could distance from the strike, which I was still pissed about. I just looked at it like this guy ain’t a ballplayer, he can’t he even round the bases. I’ve recovered. :)

did you
like the movie 61*? it’s one of my favorite made for tv movies

You bet.
Really well cast, Jane and Pepper looked the part. It was nice to see the Maris/Mantle relationship, as I had always read before that movie that it was a little contentious.
In fairness, 1961 was also an expansion year with bloated numbers. Most notably, Norm Cash, .361 .487 .662. Even still, Maris had won the MVP the year before and being nostalgic I just hated seeing the record being shattered like that. Remember the HR derby at Fenway that year was a joke, MLB was really skewing the game that entire season.
