Rangers sign Gobble
Presumably, Gobble will start the season in AAA, and give the Rangers a fallback option, should Eddie Guardado not be able to get the job done in the pen for the Rangers (or should Guardado or C.J. Wilson get hurt).

nice choice
Scout: He was a first-round pick right? Got a huge bonus?
KG: Oh yeah.
Scout: Well, he spent a lot of it on milkshakes.

one of you guys needs to post
a lovely pic from Gov. Palin’s heartwarming T-day interview – after I eat my migas please…
If Gobble makes it up...
then we’re going to have a ton of graphic fun.

Does JD read LSB?
Or can Clark see the future?
Either way, Clark win’s this week’s prize for most prophetic FanPost –
The money quote? How about
He (Gobble) is the textbook definition of a loogy, and he can be had for next to nothing. With the current instability among our crop of bullpen lefties, he seems like exactly the sort of player to take a chance on.
good signing
According to Dierkes, he is controlable through the 2010 season.

Right
and I like the fact that he is under 38…
FYI
In the spring of 2007, Gobble changed his delivery from a conventional somewhat over-the-top delivery (which he had his entire professional career) to a more sidearm or 3/4 delivery. This enabled him to dominate lefty batters in both 2007 and 2008. Unfortunately the Royals manager in 2008 chose not to use Gobble as a LOOGY and exposed him to too many righty batters. As long as Gobble is used strictly as a LOOGY, he’ll be good in that role.

ok
a lot of issues here. Clearly something else happened to him in 2008; the wheels fell off and it had nothing to do with him not being “loogy enough”. He was only limited to loogy duty as of 2007 while he pitched more than 1inning/game in prior years, which were not remotely as bad. It seems he has always sucked vs RH pitching irrespective of what happened last year; last year was something plus…
I am always in favor of pitching depth, but Maddux might have some work on his hand here.
My favorite J. Gobble moment:

Heh
Believe it or not that GS by Murphy was the only one Gobble allowed to a lefty last year.
Now blogging again (temporarily) at "Hello Win Column".

does Clark's wife know
that she is not his #1 fan?
I can't tell her that..
If I make it through Thanksgiving….I’ll tell her but not a second before. It’s not worth losing my head over.

Woooo!
Another talentless assclown to get thrown out there and drop a 9 era for a few weeks before getting canned.
OMG...
Richie Witt just said he would trade Pujols for Volquez….what a dumbass.
