I thought this was interesting, a proposed law in MA that prohibits lascivious images of people over 60 or people with disabilities. Is that why the subject of this Awful Link of the Day is no longer online? Well, probably not... after all, it's from 2003.

It's definitely a weird situation, and one can't help but think that porn featuring 60 year olds and amputees probably fits the "I'll know it when I see it" obscenity standard, but, really, so does any porn. I mean, does it mean that Bridget can't come back to Cathouse: The Series?

Anyway, considering how most of MA probably felt about Lawrence, it's interesting the breadth of this proposed law considering it applies to consenting adults of sound mind, as well as retards.

I live in MA.

and the people here make zero sense. Everyone claims to be super liberal but when it comes down to it they don’t have a clue what they are. People are so uptight about issues that mean nothing. Damn Puritans. And don’t get me started on the booze laws (i.e. happy hour is illegal).

Yeah, sucks about the happy hour here in MA. However, there is a liquor store not more than five minutes by foot. I used to live in a dry county in Texas. Pretty dumb I think.

why wouldn’t this conflict with the ADA? I mean, can a state create a statute that conflicts with a federal statute like this? If a disabled man or elderly man wants to act in porn for a living, shouldn’t he be allowed to?

Not really a conflict

because porn is not a legal industry in Mass, as far as I am aware porn filming is only legal in California. If porn cannot be filmed in Mass. the law is not preventing any person disabled or elderly from acting in them. This is just one reason why this would not conflict, at least as I see it.

It is either legal in Florida, or the Florida and specifically Miami DA need to be fired with extreme prejuduce…

It could be illegal but not prosecuted/enforced for a number of reasons, including the fear that more rigorous enforcement could lead to the law itself being challenged as part of the court case.

This would’ve been like 2001 or so when it showed up there… they used it with some made-up caption in some regular daily post. I don’t think they have the posts still up going that far, otherwise I’d go find it.
