i'm sure that it's Jon Daniels fault
that MY and Andrus are fighting over the right to play SS today.
lol
Bring on April 6th!
Death match for right to play ss
Andrus is younger and faster but Young has a big arm that could rifle his GG at the head of Andrus.
Keith Law on Greg Golson, "He's similiar to Cameron and Hunter in that all three are black."

Anyone know what Blalock's
+/- fielding rating was at 1B last year?
Elvis Andrus - 2009 AL Rookie of the Year
did anyone see
the Bill Simmons mailbag? He talked about having negative VORP with the guy from Baseball Prospectus. One of the leaders of negative VORP last year was Andruw Jones. He was -16.9 I believe. That’s funny that he was so bad that a replacement player would have actually added runs to the team.

I wonder
if this is a prelude to my nightmare scenario that I’m afraid might happen a lot in the season (Jones – DH, Blalock – 1st, Davis – rotting on the bench) or if Davis really does need to rest the knee.
anyone seen mlb.com's al west preview?
their selection for the best lineup in the division…the a’s
"BEST LINEUP
As usual, the Rangers will score their fair share of runs, and the Angels will have the most versatile attack. The A’s, however, can feature a lineup that includes Garciaparra, Cabrera, Holliday, Giambi, Jack Cust, Eric Chavez and emerging star Ryan Sweeney. Oakland’s O is anemic no more.
Our selection: A’s "
what a joke
I call BS on the person that wrote this article
Keith Law on Greg Golson, "He's similiar to Cameron and Hunter in that all three are black."
they also say the rangers havn't made any defensive upgrades
the preceding post was a great success.
i don't think these writers think the rangers exist
they just mark them down for 4th.
Bring on April 6th!
Not really saying they think it’s the best lineup in the division, though.

2 run double by some backup catcher

the preceding post was a great success.
Burriss
Announcers: Giants are really counting on Burriss for enthusim and spark.
Because, that’s really what the problem with the Giants was last year.

This is like listening to Joe Morgan
“This is one of those situations where giving the opposition 4 outs is not to the Rangers advantage”
When, exactly, is it to your advantage to give the other team 4 outs in an inning?
by NorCalRangersFan on Mar 31, 2009 3:38 PM CDT reply actions
maybe it gives the guy who made the error more fielding practice
so that could be a positive, right?

Giants' scrubs really scared Harrison
let’s hope this is not what we’ll see during the season
Bring on April 6th!
A real confidence
booster by Matt. Hope this doesn’t cause RW and JD to knee jerk and send him to the minors. You know, the 5th starter thing.

I'm anxious to hear what happened with Matt
for what it’s worth, I think he would fair better in the bullpen than Feldman, and I wouldn’t hate seeing either of them start there to help keep their innings down this year after last year’s jump.
Nice inning for Strop.

why can't we havin him in the bullpen this year?

Jindal - 2012
"AMMIITAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAABHH!!!"
Coming off of a pretty major injury
I’d rather make sure his usage is dictated on our terms before we put him in the majors.
He's a madridal clone, new pitching convert
has only pitched 7ip in AA but should come fast. The staff has been messing with his mechanics so I hope that helps rather than hinders his progression. The surgery was not major depending on what you mean that. It was a fracture of the tip of his elbow, no soft tissue damage. However, nonamecard suggests that his odd delivery might make him susceptible to this kind of thing.
he's a stud closer candidate
he should be at AA for a month or two then AAA and he could see action as early as july. just hope his elbow shatters after we make the playoffs.
yup
I wonder if they might just start him off in AAA (he was optioned to AA but I guess that is easy enough to change – add an A…)
Zito
2 IP — 17 pitches, 13 strikes
theres you’re 100 million dollar arm….lol (thank god we didn’t go there)

Harrison's problem
Is he hasn’t started an ! game in 11 days. A starting pitcher needs to pitch every fifth day per Maddux.

didn't he go
in a minor league game? I doubt they just let him golf and play video games for ten days.

2 on for the rangers on salty/elvis singles.
the preceding post was a great success.
Matt had a rough day
great first inning, but the wheels fell off in the second against a bunch of scrubs. walks, errors, more walks. basically you can read any gdt from last year.
Thanks Guys...
So you mean the Rangers have a starting pitcher that couldn’t get out of the second inning? I don’t believe you!

I'll answer my own question
From wikipedia:
The waiver “wire” is a secret within the personnel of the Major League Baseball clubs; no announcement of a waiver is made until a transaction actually occurs.

A's
they’re the trendy pick to surprise in the West, but you have to hate it when your ace and your projected closer are hanging out with Dr. Andrews before the season starts.
"gimme some good news doc...",
“gimme some good news.”
If someone else gets
placed on waivers the only ones to go on the 60 DL would be Benoit and Hurley.
Elvis Andrus - 2009 AL Rookie of the Year
i would rather
put Hunter on the 60 day DL than risk losing someone unnecessarily. Hunter should not be asked to pitch too many innings this year anyway after last year’s jump.
i don't really care if metcalf
is DFA’ed. He does nothing to help this team win now or in the future.

i’d really like to see him have a good, clean inning before we give him a spot on the 40.
He pitched in a AAA game
three batters…nine pitches…and then threw 27 pitches in a bullpen session.
At least that’s what I think I heard a few moments ago.

sounds like he'd be good in AAA

I almost want Jennings to pitch poorly
Just so it doesn’t tempt “some in the organization” to overreact and demand to have him on the 25-man right away.
What have you done to me, Rangers fandom?
wasn't he suspended for PEDs?

How about
sending Harrison down to OKC, Jennings in the rotation and Strop in the bullpen until Eyre or Nippert is healthy?
Elvis Andrus - 2009 AL Rookie of the Year
and on that note
thank goodness nobody picked him last December. He looks like a keeper and it looks like he’ll be healthy to start the year.
I am definitely
not the one to ask in that department. He’s a reliever, and I’m sure they’ll be very cautious with him, which certainly helps the chances that they will.
the Giants actually found a way
to replace their lesser known players in today’s lineup with even lesser known players.
he definitely equals
not ready for the big leagues. but according to every local writer, he has a firm grasp on a spot.

looked good in the first
and then just lost his command in the second. it’s a little worrying. the sort of outing that often happens before an injury is announced.
ok, just read on the ST blog
that he looks ok…
Harrison wasn’t done. He went to the back fields to pitch against minor leaguers and get his pitch count up to 100 or 110.
whew….
rumor is that
minor leaguers were coming over from the Royals camp to try to get an AB vs Harrison. :)
